HESTER'S AMERICAN BLACK AND TAN HOUNDS- BIG GAME AND COONHOUNDS
United Kennel Club Master of Hounds, Jeff Hester, has been working with Black & Tan hounds for his entire life, and continues a Black & Tan tradition that his father's father began last century. His father and grandfather hunted for passion, pleasure and occasionally to feed their families. Both men were adamant houndsmen and loved al

l the breeds, teaching Jeff many of their secrets. This proud tradition is continued today in Athens, TN at Hester's Black & Tan Coonhound & Big Game Kennels. Jeff has trained dozens of title winning hounds that have come through the Smokey Mountain Training Facility, the training arm of Hester's Black & Tan Coonhound and Big Game Kennels. Jeff feels that he has created the strain of Black & Tan dogs that his father and grandfather were working towards all their lives - hounds with grit, track and tree power. These dogs make not only show and competition hunt winners, but also make excellent companions, guard, family and pleasure dogs. These two little hair pullers made their way to a ranch in California today to be mountain lion hounds. They are off of Hester's Hardwood Hondo and Hester's Big Time Jezebel(male pup)and Hester's Big Time Karen(female). The female I called her Tawnda and the male is Thunder Jack.

These pups will carry Champion Grand Nite Champion Hester's Tennessee Black This Time Alvin, Grand Nite Champion Hester's The Big Show Brutus, Grand Champion Nite Champion Hester's Tennessee Timber Cruiser, Grand Champion Hester's War Eagle, Grand Champion Grand Nite Champion Hester's Black Pearl, and many of my big game females.

My wife made this video of my latest hair pullers at 4 weeks old. This little female that I call Mountain Girl, was the only female in the litter and she's showing her brothers who rules the roost. Mountain Girl and one of her brothers will be making their way to Canada soon.

Hello fellow hunters and friends. One of our clubs on the coast of North Carolina is looking for shooters. This is a family oriented club. Of course there's cost involved with this adventure. If you are interested in harvesting a bear, SEND ME A MESSAGE OR CALL ME, and I will give you the pertinent information. This will be the November, December 2026 season.

This club is only accepting shooters, they do not want anyone to join that wants to use their hounds, they only want shooters. They will use their hounds.

Sidenote- you do NOT HAVE TO HAVE A NORTH CAROLINA HUNTING LICENSE FOR A CHILD 16 YEARS OLD AND UNDER. You contact the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Agency and they will mail you a bear tag free of charge.

Thank you to everyone who shared post, called, text, drove around looking and helped us walking thru the mountains looking for him. I can't thank everyone enough. We are overwhelmed at all the help we received.

Special Thank you to these kids for catching him and having their dad call us and holding him til we picked him up.
