HESTER'S AMERICAN BLACK AND TAN HOUNDS- BIG GAME AND COONHOUNDS
United Kennel Club Master of Hounds, Jeff Hester, has been working with Black & Tan hounds for his entire life, and continues a Black & Tan tradition that his father's father began last century. His father and grandfather hunted for passion, pleasure and occasionally to feed their families. Both men were adamant houndsmen and loved al

l the breeds, teaching Jeff many of their secrets. This proud tradition is continued today in Athens, TN at Hester's Black & Tan Coonhound & Big Game Kennels. Jeff has trained dozens of title winning hounds that have come through the Smokey Mountain Training Facility, the training arm of Hester's Black & Tan Coonhound and Big Game Kennels. Jeff feels that he has created the strain of Black & Tan dogs that his father and grandfather were working towards all their lives - hounds with grit, track and tree power. These dogs make not only show and competition hunt winners, but also make excellent companions, guard, family and pleasure dogs.
