It is so cold out there! The pups feel it, too. Brrr. 🥶

❄️ Cold Weather Alert for Our Canine Friends ❄️

The forecast is calling for seriously cold temperatures in the days ahead, with lows dipping into the 20s—and our dogs are feeling it. Our short-haired and senior pups especially need a little extra help staying warm and comfortable during outdoor time.

We’re urgently asking for fleece or thermal blankets and dog clothing, especially coats and fleece jackets, to help keep our pups cozy during this cold snap. If you’re able to help, donations can be purchased directly from our Amazon wishlist (linked below) or dropped off in person at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Rd in Athens, any day from 9AM–6PM.

Your dog trainer says they are certified and/or professional. Are they? Anyone who gets paid to train dogs can claim to be “professional”. What is their education? There are many quick “Jiffy Lube” courses that last only a couple of weeks or months. What are your trainer’s credentials? Do they have to have continuing education?

The dog industry is not regulated well currently but Certified Professional Dog Trainers like myself are working to change that. CPDTs are certified through a third party worldwide Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers who developed rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery of HUMANE, science based dog training practices. No shock collars, no prong collars. Just skills, knowledge and understanding.

Know who you choose as a trainer. Positive training is fun for both human and canine. It builds trust. Have dogs offer behaviors because they are confident, not fearful of pain. Dogs are family. 🐾 ❤️
