Hello, everyone! Checking in with a much needed update. Stormie and Sunnie are doing so well! Everyday, they look a little less like fuzzy, little kitties, and more like grown, cozy, catties. They are out of quarantine, and mingling well with the others. Unfortunately, they are still very wary of people, and hide from us most of the time. If I find them cozied in for the night, they do occasionally let me sneak in a small pet, sometimes without even hissing! 🙂 In all seriousness, they are absolutely all hiss, and no bite. Not even a bap, actually. What is most important to us is that they are safe, and cared for- even if they don't care for us. We have two new intakes, as well! Miranda is such a sweet girl! Fully up to date on her shots, and spayed, she is also settling in very nicely. She is absolutely loving the attention she's been getting. Gory, the tiny menace, is still very young, at approximately 5 weeks old. Her mother had left her on her caretaker's back porch, and disappeared- which was very unlike her. After the kitten had been left without mom for almost a full day, being so young, we all felt it was necessary to ensure the wellbeing of the kitten. Fortunately, it seems she was already in the process of being weaned, and, as she showed much more interest in cat food over milk, we have begun introducing it. We're just glad that we could settle for her wet food mix, and not the hard food she was almost willing to fight for. We have been told that, after several days, Gory's mother did return, and was very hungry. Hearing this, we are HOPING to make arrangements for her care, which may be difficult based on her demeanor. We hope to reunite the kitten with a very vital role model in her life, keeping in mind that working with truly feral cats is extremely difficult. Gory will see the vet this week, and Miranda is due for a checkup as well! Sunnie and Stormie are still due to be fixed, but fortunately I have found a more afforable option. The approximate cost, for BOTH cats, is around $150. Which, is very much appreciated after their intial, almost $700, vet visit. These are the animals we have taken in, just in the past month, and does not include all of the animals we already care for, that I would absolutely love to tell you all about, but we would be here for a long time. If you would like to help in any way at all, we always need wet cat food, dry cat food, toys, hides, and blankets. Thanks for checking us out, and be sure to check back in soon! We have more updates to come!
