This is the exact face our shelter dog is making. Pure. Shock. 😳
“Excuse me… you’ve heard of me, right? So how have you not heard of Giving Tuesday—the day humans donate to help dogs like me get medical care, warm beds, and maybe even some fancy treats?!”
Cheatham County Animal Shelter depends on Giving Tuesday to fund the things the county budget doesn’t cover—like lifesaving vet care, enrichment toys, comfy bedding, and all the little things that make a huge difference for our animals. 💙🐾

🎄🐾 SCAMP is feeling extra festive on the Mistletoe Trail! 🐾🎄
If you're cruising through Ashland City’s Mistletoe Trail, don’t miss our officially paw-some Christmas tree! Huge shoutout to Alison McHenry, who decorated it with more holiday spirit than a pack of sugar-cookie-powered puppies, and to Larry Roberts, who carefully selected the tree like it was being drafted into the Christmas Hall of Fame. 🌟🌲
And while you’re out getting your jingle on, be sure to stop by the Paws with Claus event on Dec 9 from 6-8 — because nothing says “holiday magic” like getting your picture taken with Santa AND a pet who’s convinced they’re on the nice list. 🎅🐶📸

🎄 “In Honor Of” Holiday Cards Are Available for Pre-Order!
Give a meaningful stocking stuffer this year! You can now pre-order cards on the honor system by making a donation at the SCAMP website (link in comments). Once printed, cards (with envelopes) will be available for pick up or purchase at the CCAC front desk.

Each card lets your recipient know that a donation was made in their honor to support medical costs and critical supplies for animals at Cheatham County Animal Control—perfect for the animal lovers on your list! Every card also includes a QR code linking to the furry friend's adoption profile.

Pricing: $5 each or $35 for all 9 designs.

How to Get Them:

• Pre-order now by donating on the SCAMP website (link in comments).

• Drop a comment below letting us know how many cards you're ordering.

• Pick up printed cards from the CCAC front desk once they arrive—available through Dec 23 or until sold out.

• Cash or check purchases can be made at the CCAC front desk. Exact change appreciated!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, every pup at Cheatham County Animal Shelter enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal worthy of a tail-wagging celebration! From extra treats to warm snuggles after dinner, our dogs were living their best holiday life. 💁‍♂️🦴
But here’s the real truth behind the cuteness:

🐾❄️ Winter is here, and we’re doing everything we can to keep our shelter pups cozy and safe! Some of our dogs stay in outdoor kennels, even in the colder months, so SCAMP recently purchased brand-new heaters to help keep them warm through the winter nights. ❤️
This is just one example of how Saving Cheatham Animals Mission Pawsible (SCAMP) uses donations to directly help the animals — providing things the county budget doesn’t cover but are so important for their comfort and care. 🐶🐾
A quick reminder for all pet owners: when keeping outdoor dogs or cats warm, always use straw, not hay! 🌾
👉 Straw repels moisture and provides insulation, while hay can get damp and moldy.
