Story time from Jamie: This week, I was invited to Washington DC to represent the cattle industry. To meet with the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, to announce the USDA’s support of the American Beef Industry with an infusion of $500million dollars to beef packers during these unprecedented times of the worst cattle shortage in the last 75years. It was also pubically recognized during the event that I am the largest woman-owned beef packer in the United States!! Harpley’s growth in the last 4 years has been unprecedented. From starting as a small deer processor to expanding into beef processing, to growing into multiple locations and expanding those too… Im grateful to be in a Nation that supports these possibilities!!

Today, as we celebrate America’s 250 birthday, I hope we can celebrate both the successes and the imperfections (just how we celebrate our own birthdays). 🙂 Today, I hope you celebrate with some amazing food - knowing thay so many memories are made with meals! Let’s continue to celebrate and support our American food supply - the farmers, meat producers, and processors. Happy Birthday, America! I hope it’s a wonderful one and cheers to many more!

2nd place in the NATION! (Video in comments) Our Nanci entered a taxidermy piece into the National Beta Club competition after she won 1st in the state AND BEST in SHOW at the state level. (We were told that it was the first time a taxidermy piece was entered into the national Competition!) Nanci not only was representing her high school, but also the State of North Carolina AND all other taxidermists! We could not be more proud of her!!!

Story Time!!! 👇👇👇

While Burnie was in Alaska, he was on the hunt for deer and ducks. He and Dustin ended up bagging a nice Sitka Blacktail and so they went to tracking!

All of the sudden, while following the blood trail, they saw a bear had gotten to it before they did!! And not just any bear, the largest brown bear species in the world- a Kodiak Brown Bear.😱Exceeding weights of 1,000lbs, and a standing height of 10ft tall!

Hearts are pounding, and Burnie pulls out his phone to record this once in a lifetime moment. Thankfully, they all left Alaska in one piece but they didn’t leave empty handed! (check out our last Burnie post!)

One of our favorite posts of the year! We took in 539 DONATED DEER this year!! (From over 350+ hunters) You may have to ZOOM in or grab your glasses to read the names on the list, but we are beyond thrilled to be able to provide quality meat products to our community. For the last few years we have partnered with the organization "Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry" and they continue to be outstanding partners in our dedication to giving to our community. THANK YOU to everyone who donated. THANK YOU to "Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry" and THANK YOU to our team for working so hard this season!
