A&B Animal Rescue of SW Arkansas A&B, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, now has 2 sides to it first and foremost is our Rescue side. The other side is a shelter.

A&B Animal Rescue of SW Arkansas is all about saving abandoned, abused, homeless dogs and finding them loving furever homes. All of our dogs are fully vetted and spayed or neutered before leaving the rescue. We work with free, volunteer-based animal transport groups to arrange transportation of our pups to approved adopters and rescue organizations all over the continental US and some parts of Canada.

If you’re not fostering, volunteering, or physically helping at a shelter—or working directly with a rescue that does—you truly cannot understand how any of this works.

Today alone, I saw two separate posts where people told others not to adopt from or support a shelter—because they didn’t like their personal experience.

One was upset that someone else adopted the puppy they wanted.
The other gave the usual vague “they euthanize, so don’t support them” argument.

Let me ask you this: How does that help the dogs still stuck in that shelter?

Discouraging people from adopting, donating, or supporting these overwhelmed shelters doesn’t “take a stand.” It hurts animals—plain and simple.

Your northern shelter with 10 dogs and a waitlist for adopters does not prepare you for what we face here in the South.

Our shelters were built to hold 200. They’re housing 400+.
Dogs are living in pop-up crates, wire kennels, hallways—anywhere there’s space. Staff is maxed out. Foster homes are full.

You want change? Great.
But you don’t change a broken system by trashing the people still inside it trying to hold it together.

If you’re not ready to step up, foster, volunteer, or donate, then at the very least—stop tearing it all down.

MISSION STATEMENT

A&B Animal Rescue of SW Arkansas is a facility base NO KILL rescue based in Ashdown, Ar., that takes in ALL breeds. Our primary focus is dogs. We are a group of animal loving volunteers that have opened up our hearts to the overwhelming dumped and abandoned dog population, in our area. The demand for a NO KILL facility in the region is paramount. Animals deserve the best life and unfortunately there are way too many that are abandoned, abused, suffering, and EUTHANIZED! This can be due to puppy mills, backyard breeders, and irresponsible owners. Our goal is to save these animals and put them into not just any home, but the RIGHT home because; THEIR LIVES MATTER!

A&B Animal Rescue of SW Arkansas Inc’s mission is to rescue, fully vet and re-home these worthy souls. We stress the benefits of Spay, Neutering and Microchipping
