Make sure your dog is fully vaccinated if they are getting into ponds, rivers, lakes, even puddles. Leptospirosis vaccinations protect your dog from a bacterial disease spread through water. Don’t forget annual booster shots!

🚫🐶 Blue-Green Algae: A Deadly Danger For Dogs!

Blue-green algae might look like harmless scum or discolored water … but it's actually toxic bacteria that can make your dog very sick — or even be deadly. Just a quick swim or a sip of contaminated water is enough to cause serious harm.

Toxins from blue-green algae can lead to:
⚠️ Liver damage or failure
⚠️ Seizures, tremors, or paralysis
⚠️ Vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes bloody)
⚠️ Breathing issues
⚠️ Disorientation or even coma

Symptoms can show up within 30 minutes, so always keep a close eye after water play. If you notice any of these signs, get your dog to the vet right away!

DOGS OF THE MONTH: June 2025
Buck, Jax & Ripp 🐶🐶🐶
Despite their differences, they are siblings and a pleasure to look after.

Do you need pet care while you travel, work late, or otherwise can’t be around? I’d love to help.

There is no explanation.
There are just people in front of you, coming towards you.
You don't know these people but something seems wrong.....again.

The last time this happened you were taken to a house.
Everything was different....everything.
People and children are trying to touch you but you don't know them.

You don't even speak the same language.

They are using a tone which sounds calming but you have been fooled by that tone before. The last time you heard this, it was from the people that showed up...right in front of you and you were taken away from all you knew.

Even if it was an unhealthy, stressful, chaotic and a damaging environment to be in....you knew what was happening.
You knew the sounds.
The smells and the routine of the people.
You knew who to approach in the house and who to be very wary of. You knew it wasn't always a safe place but there was food and you knew the places to slip away to when you needed.

Now it is happening again.
These people may treat you well or they may be just as traumatising for you as the last place you rested your head.

You simply do not know yet.

That is what many adopted dogs go through.

Take it easy.
Take it slow.
Give them space and time !

🐶DOG OF THE MONTH: MAY🐶

This is Yogi. He loves the pool and food! He has to eat separately from his siblings or he’ll hoover up everyone’s food before you can blink.
The sweetest personality & I enjoy every visit!
