We received a call from volunteer Jennifer Reed for help this morning regarding a kitten in distress. One of our volunteers, now nicknamed the kitten whisperer, Dena Wright went rushing over with her husband, Kevin D Wright to try and find it. They got there and heard the baby crying. Dena talked softly to him and coaxed him out of the bushes and into her arms!
We called Towne Animal Clinic in Leesburg to get an appointment and they fit him in right away. Dr Bollenbeck and the staff gave him the TLC he needed. He was one hungry guy and a little dehydrated. He is also polydactyl on both front paws!
But who was going to continue caring for him? He (we think he was a he) lost his mom and is only about 3 weeks old.
We contacted one of our new partners, the Kitten nursery at Animal Welfare League of Arlington to see if they had room at the Inn. They welcomed him with open arms and all of the love and care needed for this little one to thrive. Thank you for helping him!
We appreciate and value our partnerships. This is how to save lives, together!

If you find a kitten please give us a call at 703-687-6009 and fill out our TNR assistance request form on our website.
