Could you imagine how many lives we could save and change if the 126 THOUSAND people that saw the weirdo post donate $1 just think about it. We could open a larger facility, stock up on supplies, have volunteers, etc…. Just a thought.

Weird seems to be the word to get people engaging so we are trying a new method hang with me.

We currently have 14 weirdos in care (fawns😂) and could really use some new bottles to feed all these weirdos if anyone would actually like to help the animals in care instead or arguing about a word because we have better things to do.

For everyone in the comments of my original post about this baby with no eyes. That was mad about me using the word weird. He’s still weird. If you don’t like the word to bad but instead of looking at it as a bad word how about you look at it from a different perspective how I was looking at it. Weird doesn’t have to be a bad thing it can be looked at as he’s different and beautiful in his own way he’s different unlike any other but please stay butt hurt because my last post got almost 50 thousand views/ interaction and we raised almost $200 for the rescue to continue helping our native wildlife 😂

Also if you made it this far for everyone mad euthanizing was considered (legal purposes and his own well being) he’s about to head to sanctuary where they will try to give him a healthy close as possible to “normal” life.

Let’s talk about the world when live it real quick.

Almost 30 THOUSAND people have viewed this post, and they only thing people are doing is telling me how I don’t need to rescue or have animals in my care because I used the word weirdo to describe the injuries and deformities I have been getting in.

Imagine if people put that much energy and time into trying to make a change for our native wildlife.

I rescue hundreds of animals a year paying for 99% of everything OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. I don’t get paid to do what I do I simply do it because I care about our native wildlife.

I sacrifice sleep, time with my husband, going out to nice dinners, day trips with my kids, I sacrifice so much on a daily biases because I am that passionate about our native wildlife.

So no you are not going to sit here and say that I don’t care about the animals in my care when I am doing more for them than you ever will.

Now let’s answer some questions
- no I can not give him to you just because you have lots of fenced in land. In my state Rehabbers are not allowed to keep non releasable animals they only person I could transfer him to would be someone licensed to use him as an educational ambassador other wise my state requires he is euthanized

- yes I do care about the animals even though I used the word weirdo. Y’all are giving human emotions to animals that’s where things become a problem.

- he may not have a quality of life. He’s not your dog that is blind that has you to walk him on a leash and keep him safe. Deer are pray animals that rely on sight to protect them from danger can you imagine how terrified he is? You may not be able to but l can explain it because I am caring for him and experiencing it. Every-time I have to given him a bottle he gets terrified because he can hear me but not see me. I have to put the bottle in his mouth which means I have to catch him again he’s a prey animal that can’t see it’s terrifying.

For everyone that has been following along. I’m happy to announce eye ball baby made it through surgery!!!!

He’s doing great a little loopy he’s on pain medications and antibiotics but he made it through surgery and that’s what matters!

He’s not out of the woods and has a road for recovery so everyone wish him luck.

Thank you Heidi for taking him to surgery and bringing him back!

I’m just getting all the weird animals this week.

Edit: I was going to change the weird word but no I’m going to leave it as a moment of education. Weird doesn’t have to be a bad word. I call my kids weird I still love them 😂 I call my husband weird when he does stupid s**t. I still love him and choose to spend my life with him.

Don’t be normal and boring. Be WEIRD. Be different. Be extraordinary!! Be the difference this world needs to see!!! 

This little one just came in. He has absolutely no eye on one side and has a little eye reminisce
on the other side. He’s completely blind.

He will most likely need to have the eyes surgically sealed to prevent infection if we can find placement for him since he is non releasable or he will have to be euthanized. Wish us luck. ❤️

If you would like to help us with vet bills and supplies we would greatly appreciate it we pay for most of everything out of pocket and honestly if I can’t get stocked back up on supplies I’m going to have to close.

You get a fawn! You get a fawn! And you get a fawn!

I am up to 10 fawns. We unfortunately lost our little piebald girl within 24 hours of intake. She started having seizures and passed shortly after.

Today we had 2 new intakes. A pretty large fawn with its eye popped out. Our wonderful volunteer Heidi is taking him to his vet appointment tomorrow to have the eye removed.

The other little boy is a fresh baby still has his umbilical cord he was unable to get up and nurse and follow mom because of some tendon issues so he’s pretty weak and considered critical as it’s very important they get colostrum within a few hours of birth.

Everyone else is from various reason mom hit by car, finder dawn napped, or they where abandon.

We could really use funds for vet bills, formula, and supplies.

Some supplies we need directly off our wishlist are:
- Needles
- Gloves
- Powdered colostrum
- Chlorhexidine
- adding puppy pads because you can never have to many
- trash bags
- laundry detergent

White tails fawn formula (it’s ok it’s own wishlist)

Our wonderful Heidi is going to take him tomorrow! Everyone be sure to tell her thank you she is amazing and volunteers her time to help me with animals in need all the time.

Fawn is on the way to me but will need a ride sometime tomorrow to flowery branch to have the eye removed then brought back to me it’s a quick procedure. If I have any volunteers that are willing to take it, stay during the procedure, then bring it back. It will have to be there by 4pm
