Ok, FINALLY, for once I followed through with my promise of a recipe after so many asked for one!!

My recipe (as best as I can recall since I make things up as I go) for my CREAMY DREAMY GOOD LUCK NEW YEAR’S BLACK-EYED PEAS!! 🍲 🥳
When you reach my secret ingredient, You may ask yourself, WHAT???? 🤔⁉️
...but it makes sense! 💡
I am a fan of creamy coups and rather than making a rue to thicken with flour or béchamel, I had 4 loaded twice baked potatoes in the freezer! 🥔(Thanks to my dad’s awesome yearly mailed food Christmas gift. They accompanied a prime rib roast)
The potato insides were good but the potato boat was a little watery once thawed, and since I like to use what I have in hand, I thawed them and scooped out the insides and threw them in! … potatoes, cream, butter and bacon, how could that be bad? 🥔🥓🧈
AND potatoes are a natural soup thickener on their own, so it made perfect sense to me, and luckily, tasted even better!
Since I know most people don’t have loaded twice baked potatoes hanging out in their freezer, you can easy substitute them with any of the ready-made mashed potatoes at the grocery store, and to remained true to my recipe, you can get the loaded mashed potatoes which will add wonderful creaminess to your dish! 😋
