Rest in peace sweet Emily. Do you remember my foster Emily from 5 years ago? She came to me after escaping from two previous fosters due to running away from fear. The last time getting hit.
She was the most fearful dog I had ever met. As bad as Rue but she didn’t warm up. She hated men and sat one one side of my couch and never moved. She also had heartworm. Not an easy dog to find a home for. In my care whe learned to love eating food and would do dances and zoomies when i got home
She was adopted by a senior couple and never fully warmed up to her dad but loved her mom. I learned she passed away yesterday.
The first part of her life was horrific but the last 5.5 she was truly happy and at peace. To me that’s success and why I foster.
