Brrr 🥶 it’s getting cold out there!
We wanted to share directions for folks to make an outdoor cat shelter for community cats in our area!

As a further incentive to our community, we will reimburse the buying of supplies if you provide us a receipt and photo of the completed cat house!
We appreciate those with big hearts stepping up to help care for these animals. 🥰

The project can be pretty simple and modified to what you have, an important detail- USE STRAW, not hay, blankets or towels as they could get wet and freeze.

If you cannot get straw or don’t want to buy a whole bale you can contact me, Robin Williams. I also have some insulation supplies such as styrofoam.
(If anyone has extra containers, or styrofoam from packages please let us know!)

Thank you Cast Aside To Survive Inc for your help last week!
Numbers 9, 10, & 11 are Arkville residents who have now been vetted and fixed! We are trying to give 11- a kitten, a little extra socializing in a home to see if they could possibly be placed in a furrever home 🐈‍⬛

Labor Day activities today include trapppng cats!
Thank you Sam for your help!
We are checking every hour because we know it’s hot but hopefully we can take 3-5 cats to Cast Aside To Survive who will help us get them fixed!
You can donate directly to their organization and it supports the work we are doing here in Middletown!

Hey everyone!
Quick update on the cat with the very goopy eyes. Thank you Karen for scooping him up, we took him to the Heart Of The Catskills Humane Society and it turns out he has a condition that would have never cleared up on its own! He has Entropion, which means is his lower eyelid is turned inward causing constant irritation and discharge.
Conditions like this can be due to inbreeding… which happens in cat communities AND in homes, again showing why the work of spaying and neutering cats is so important!
Thankfully he will be set up for surgery to correct this issue and also will get neutered!
A kind soul is willing to take in ‘Peanut’ (also known as Coal to some Arkvillians), and will keep his eyes medicated until that surgery.
It’s not always a happy ending for street cats with medical issues… thankfully for this guy it is!

Hello everyone!
Over the past year we have been able to help approximately 65 cats and kittens get spayed and neutered, and many kittens found their furrever homes. This has potentially prevented over 11,700 more cats! Crazy!
It's been a while but here we are in KITTEN SEASON again.
🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈🐈
We have been contacted by many folks about cats and kittens in their area. We are also aware of a local stray cat who has severe eye infections, and we hope to get them to a vet for treatment.

Our goal is to be able to help people trap stray cats, and then financially support them in getting these cats fixed and vetted.

We utilize a number of low cost spay & neuter programs, but we are only able to do this with YOUR support! So, if you feel so inclined, please make a donation to help us continue this work!
https://gofund.me/99fcbb48 👈

Each cat spay & neuter costs between $70-$90, and then add additional healthcare costs for illness.

If you cannot donate but you can TRANSPORT a cat to their appointment that is also very valuable!! 🚗🚕🚙

If you have cats OR dogs that need to be fixed, checkout the Upstate Spay & Neuter Services
