OTIS & ROO: Re-imagined. Re-purposed. Re-fashioned. Vintage Dog Collars and Keychains.

The inspiration for building this company came when two worlds met for Kate, the owner and operator of Otis & Roo. While working at the SPCA as a veterinarian technician, Kate saw the desperate need to help suffering animals and was constantly inspired by the great spirit and forgiving souls animals maintained dispite the abuse and neglect they experienced. And the same time adopting her first dog

, a Boxer named Lucy, from the Seeing Eye Institute. Lucy had a heart condition and was therefore unable to perform duties needed to be a guidedog. Lucy's spirit and true heart were revealed and became the inspiration and catalyst for the begining of Otis & Roo where Kate combines her creative energy, love of design, and a passion for helping animals in need into a dynamic and growing brand of accessories for dogs, cats, and their humans. We design and produce collars, leashes, keychains, and charms, with a percentage of profit going back to animals in need.

We said goodbye to Marcus, our 18+ years old kitty. We lost his sweet sister, Roo, almost to the week a year ago.

When she died, Marcus looked for her for 2 weeks. It hit he and I hard. But I had him to comfort and help him get through and adjust. But he was never the same.

It’s hard to put into words what he meant to me. His presence in my life was constant, full of joy and sweetness. He was a cat, but there was another something in this sentient being. And everyone who met him, new it.

The massive empty space that is left now will slowly be filled with the many many years of love and memories of him. And sweet Roo. And the cracks in my heart, the new breaks from his loss, will be sutured together with his spirit and love.

My life will not be the same without you. And my life will always be so much better for having you.
There’s a new cozy bed for you, in my heart.

This is our cozy, slouchy, soft bandana line for the fur babes.
And you, too, honestly.

They are a rayon/cotton blend that is lightweight and super comfy.

Colors are a bit more toned down for Fall but still fresh. 🧡
I love color year round. Things tend to get super drab on the East Coast so a bit of color mixed in to your dogs, or your, autumnal pallet I think is really nice.
And if your living your best life with your fur bags West Coast style (or loads of spots around the world that are actually heading INTO summer) then this bandana is perfect too.

Hellooo!

As some or many or none at all of you may know I recently started a podcast called at with the amazing and the fantastic .

And this nugget and the her Momma the lovely and dynamic archeologist were our first EVER guest.

We were brave, they were…well they said yes and the rest is history in Ep #1 of our first season.

Anywho, as a thank you for trusting us and being very big of heart I designed this martingale for them with our collar ribbon.

And it suites this dapper whippet perfectly. I think. Mom agrees.

We are working on expanding our to animals in need through where we hope to reach a bigger audience and make a larger impact in supporting our and fellow like our brothers and sisters, the Wolf.

I am so looking forward to growing this brand and cross-pollinating with the podcast.
