Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill, volunteer-run nonprofit in Apollo, PA, proudly serving cats and kittens since 2000. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect by giving homeless cats a safe place until they find a loving, permanent home. Our shelter is unique - with four mostly cage-free, home-like buildings and enclosed outdoor patios, cats are free to play, relax, and show thei

Benny, affectionately known as Mr. Ben, came to the shelter after a difficult life on his own. Before arriving, he had been living in a barn, where he endured many cat fights, painful wounds, and severely matted fur. He was understandably cautious at first and needed time to learn that he no longer had to struggle for safety, food, or kindness.
With patience, compassion, and consistency, one of our dedicated volunteer families spent extra time helping Benny feel safe and begin to trust again. Their care made all the difference. In time, Benny not only opened his heart—he found his forever family with the very people who helped him heal.
Today, Benny is living his best life in a loving home, surrounded by the comfort and security he always deserved. His journey is a beautiful reminder that time, patience, and lots of love can change everything. We are so happy for Mr. Ben and his wonderful family!

If you’ve ever wanted a personal welcoming committee, Lola is ready to report for duty! This sweet girl is always excited to see our volunteers and is more than happy to come over and say hello. 💕

Lola is friendly, curious, and has never met a volunteer she didn’t want to greet. She’s got a big personality, an adorable fluffy tail, and plenty of love to give.
