Everyone wonders why I get a little defensive when it comes to "Rumors" of poor semen quality. This right here is why. I have a feeling a lot has to do with the handling of the shipment, from the shipping company to whoever is breeding the mare.
The screenshot of the message I'm going to put in the comments here is from a shipment that was a Friday collection that ended up being delayed to a plane issue. They received this Shipment 4 days post collection.
The video in this post is another shipment that was delayed a day so this video is 48 hrs + post collection.
His semen is consistent and processed exactly the same every time. Looks the same under the microscope.
So, this is where as stallion owner I get frustrated with messages. 1 person will send me a message saying "it wasn't the best" and then 3 or 4 calls from vets or breeding managers saying it looked great. This is where everyone who follows me hears me say I'm not the biggest fan of "Repro Vets". Because the easiest solution for the mare not ovulating in a timely manner or the possible mishandling of the shipment, is to blame the stallion to save face.
