🐕 Adopt — The biggest way to make an impact is to visit your local shelter/rescue and bring home a new best friend.

💛 Not ready to adopt? No worries!
You can still:
• Volunteer your time
• Walk dogs or help with enrichment
• Simply visit and keep the animals company

💸 Shelters/Rescues are often underfunded, so even donating $5 can make a huge difference!

The holidays bring fun — and a few hidden dangers for our furry friends. Keep your pets safe by avoiding these common hazards 👇

🌺 𝑷𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒔 – Can cause drooling, vomiting, and mild stomach upset. Usually not life-threatening, but best kept out of reach.

🌸 𝑳𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔– Extremely toxic to cats! Even small amounts can cause kidney failure. Skip lilies entirely if you have pets.

🌿 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚 – Causes vomiting, diarrhea, and mouth irritation. Those spiny leaves hurt, too!

💋 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐞 – Can lead to stomach issues, low blood pressure, seizures, or worse if large amounts are eaten.

🕯️ 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔 – Curious pets + open flames = danger. Keep candles high and never leave them unattended.

🎄𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒔– Secure your tree and block access to prevent climbing. Don’t let pets drink tree water!

🎁 𝑶𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑺𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒔– Glass can break or be swallowed. Some snow globes contain toxic antifreeze (ethylene glycol).

✨ 𝙏𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙡, 𝙍𝙞𝙗𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙨 & 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨 – Shiny but dangerous! Can cause choking, intestinal blockages, or electric shocks. Use cord protectors and skip tinsel.

-Create a quiet space with toys, music, or puzzles.

-Update collars & microchips in case your pet slips out.

-Book boarding or sitters early if you’re traveling.

-Keep cords, tinsel, and ribbons out of reach.

-Skip toxic plants like poinsettias and mistletoe.

The holidays are full of love, laughter, and lots of food — but some festive treats can be dangerous for our furry family members.

👉 Keep your pets safe with these simple tips:

🚫 Avoid anything with Xylitol – it’s extremely toxic to pets.
🍽️ Keep pets away from tables, unattended plates, and food prep areas.
🗑️ Secure garbage cans – pets can’t resist leftovers!
🥩 Skip the table scraps – fatty, spicy foods and bones can cause choking or serious stomach issues.
🚿 Watch the dishwasher – curious noses and tongues may meet sharp utensils or harmful residues.
