Happy Saturday! I’ve shown off all my other animals but realized I never introduced everyone to my fourth and final fur baby. Meet Leo! Leo is my 17lb, BIG, actual child; as in he literally thinks I’m his birth mother.
Years ago, I knew I wanted a second cat to be a companion to my other cat. I don’t think my other cat actually wanted that, though. In 2022, I saw Leo posted on the Pell City Animal Shelter page and knew I had to have him. When I got there, there was him and his sister. I was told his other three siblings had been adopted and passed away that week. Due to that, him and his sister were not able to be adopted.
They saw how in love with him I was and allowed me to foster him, though. I took him home that day and was warned to not get too attached in case something happened and he didn’t make it…. Yeah right…
Fast forward four years and Leo is thriving! He did have a major health scare in December and I almost lost him. He is now on a specific, very enforced urinary care diet.
Leo is my cuddly, attached at the hip child. He is never more than 5 feet away from me when I’m home. He also is my dumpster diving cat. I’ve never met another cat that loves human food like he does. Pasta, chicken, and fish are his favorite. Due to his medical issue, he can no longer have those. My garbage cans are behind closed doors now days. Fun fact, due to Leo getting so sick when I brought him home (a bad respiratory virus) he cannot meow. Did you know if kittens get very sick when they are little due to respiratory issues they can lose their meow? That doesn’t stop him from being vocal, though. He does the cutest thing that I call his whisper. It’s his noiseless meow.
I love my dark shadow 🖤
