I really want to thank everyone who came up to me after the demo and thanked me. For me it’s difficult to stand in front of people and talk, even when you’re talking about something you love. Your kind words seem to make it easier. I really hope I got my message across to you, and I hope you all have a better season this year than last year. Saturday at the Utah Trappers Association convention I will be doing a demo on trapping bobcats and I’m going to share quite a bit on stacking location features! We all know how important it is to be “on location” when it comes to cat trapping. I will also be demonstrating the Walkthrough set and trapping in snow! I hope to see you all there! Hope to see you at the convention in Nephi this Saturday at the Juab County Fairgrounds (400 W Center St. Nephi UT). Friday September 5th at 6:30pm we will have a hamburger social to kick off the convention. Saturday September 6th our convention goes all day. We will have a UTA potluck dinner and live auction Saturday night at 6pm, and we will also draw the winners to our raffles.

We hope to see you at the convention this Saturday!

Nothing better than scouting bobcats in a light drizzle and 55 degree weather!

You can learn a lot from the neighborhood cat! Vertical structure! It’s in the cat’s DNA to hug up against vertical structure, why I’m not totally sure but bobcats do the same thing. I have tracked bobcats in the snow and when they come up to structure like a tree or fence posts they will hug up just like this cat. Just something to ponder about when you are prepping your traps!

This is a reason why you always scout more land than you can handle. This fire took down a good trap line! The more you scout the more success this winter. Simple as that!

My Trapping partner and I got out this weekend and done some spotting for mule deer. Needless to say we polished off the treat bag and headed home!! Haha
