Is your dog experiencing itchiness or flaky dry skin? Food and environmental allergies are highly prevalent amongst dogs, particularly in South Texas where the weather is constantly changing. Cold weather can cause dry skin, while hot and humid weather can cause itching, rashes, and bacterial infections. When purchasing kibble look out for common food allergies such as beef, chicken, by-products, soy, corn and wheat grain fillers. Good fillers are oats, barley, brown rice, quinoa, although not necessary for a dog's diet.
The best choice would be fresh, human grade food you can find in the pet food aisle refrigerator.
