It was our pleasure to host riders along the Erie Canal on their 100 mile cycle vacation!

Thx so much. We had a wonderful 100 mile leisurely cycle vacation on the Erie Canal from Rochester to Buffalo 7/14-7/17. Thx to your website for providing us all of the amenities that we could utilize along the way!!!!

The flat route was filled w/ farms and little towns that provided respite w coffee and meals along the way. What a special trip.

The trail was well maintained with a good limestone powder or asphalt for the section. Thx to the Canal Corp for mowing the lawn, keeping the water flow in the canal, and repairing the many lift bridges. We loved watching the boats and watching the bridges go up and down.

‼️TW: Major bummer ahead

Because of all this relentless rain and the overall vibe kill in Eastern + Central NY, the Canal System will open in phases beginning May 16. Up first is Lock E-28A (Lyons) to Locks E-34 (Lockport). More to come!

We’re prioritizing safety and we’ll continue to keep you updated. This is a good reminder to sign up for Notices to Mariners so you can be the first to know when things change (https://www.canals.ny.gov/Boating-Information/Canal-Alerts/Signup)

In the MEANTIME, our party in Waterford is rain-checked but NOT canceled. Plus, after waiting 200 years… we can be patient ⭐️
