🐎 100 Years in the Saddle — and No Plans to Stop 🌟
Her name is Elizabeth. Born in 1924 — in a world that looked nothing like today. And ever since her father first placed her on a pony as a baby, she’s been riding through life on horseback.
This year, Elizabeth celebrated her 100th birthday — with champagne, a cheerful party, and a card from King Charles himself. But the greatest gift of all was the chance to hold the reins once more and go for another ride.
Despite taking a 30-year break, she returned to riding in her 70s — and instantly felt alive again. She even went back to competing, jumping with the same youthful spark in her heart.
Today, she still visits the riding stables regularly, and every outing is a celebration. She says:
“When I started riding again, it felt like I came back to life.”
Her eyes light up when she talks about her favorite childhood pony, Snowflake, who she rode at just seven years old. She loves dogs, yes — but as she says, “horses truly thrill me.”
The war interrupted her competitive dreams when she was a teenager, but decades later, she saddled up again — and she’s never looked back.
💬 “I don’t compete anymore, but I still ride twice a week — just for the joy of it,” she smiles.
Because true passion doesn’t age. It keeps galloping on — with the wind and a heart that still longs to fly. 🐴💛
