Barn Update! 🐴💙
We’re thrilled to share that installation of our new barn is officially underway! Thanks to your incredible support — and a generous gift in memory of Bonnie Ideal — the B. Ideal Rehab Barn is becoming a reality.

This barn will be a safe, healing space for horses who need extra care, and it marks a huge step forward for the Rescue. Watching the structure go up is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together. 🛠️🏡

But we’re not done yet — we still need your help to finish strong. Every donation brings us one step closer to opening the barn doors to horses in need. 🐎💖
👉 Donate today and be part of this meaningful milestone: https://aikenequinerescue.org/donate-now

Thank you for building hope with us — one board, one nail, and one life at a time.

Can anyone assist? Amy Hebert, one of our directors, lost her Jack Russell down a drain last night!

PLEASE SHARE: "Russell" went down a storm drain on Horry Street in Aiken around 7 last night and hasn't been seen since. His human is Amy Herbert, owner of Aiken Saddlery.

I was tagged in a post asking for HELP from anyone with a septic or well business.

Maybe someone has special cameras?

Hopefully someone reading this has an idea?

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO MIGHT SEE THIS AND BE ABLE TO HELP.

I'm told public safety has been contacted and can't/won't help.
*Generating my own post because I was told people were having trouble sharing the one I shared.

For our OTTB adopters! Please submit your retired racehorse for the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Calendar Contest!

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance announces the opening of its fifth annual Calendar Photo Contest. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is seeking photos of Thoroughbreds to feature in the 2026 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Calendar. Submissions will be accepted starting June 2, 2025. 📆

“We are so excited to launch our 5th annual Calendar Photo Contest, which gives us the opportunity each year to showcase the incredible versatility of the off-track Thoroughbreds who have found new careers and new homes through a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredited non-profit organization,” said Catherine Flowers, Data Director and Office Manager, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. “Whether it’s competing athletically with an adopter, connecting with a person in need, or enjoying a quiet moment of relaxation in a paddock, these photos remind us year after year what aftercare is all about – giving back to the Thoroughbreds who have given so much to so many on the racetrack and beyond.”
