A couple weeks ago this little trouble maker got a big cut in a high mobile area that couldn’t be stitched. Now after just a few treatments with Results Equine Therapy it’s almost all healed up! Thanks again!

Welcome Jenna Doktor!

Good afternoon! Today we're introducing Jenna Doktor. Jenna grew up in Pembroke, New York. She started riding when she was 8, focusing on Hunter Equitation. She always knew that horses were going to be a part of her life and really took an interest in Equine Rehabilitation. This past year she purchased her first horse and has been working on rehabilitating and conditioning him ever since. She is planning on continuing his rehab as she pursues her internship with Carrie Ann Kelen of Results Equine Therapy in Aiken, South Carolina. Good luck, Jenna!

Client Ryan Wood was recently featured in an article by EN, "10 Eventers Who Inspired us in 2016". I have to say I agree. He puts in not only long days, weeks and months, but often creates partnerships that span years to produce 4* horses. "Ryan has diligently put in the hard work to make it to where he is today and is an inspiration to any rider with big dreams"

So proud of all the horses yesterday. Everyone took on the course with confidence. Four of our's made it around the big, soaking wet course successfully and have been accepted in this mornings jog. It has been a very busy season for Results Equine Therapy and we are not done yet. We have been invited to join 6 horses at Rolex this year! We are packing up Tuesday and heading back to the Bluegrass State to help Ryan Wood and Lillian Heard's horses feel their best so they can do their best at America's only four star event. We wish them the best as they take on #RK3DE2016.

I worked on 7 different horses today with 7 different issues; ultrasound and laser lower leg scar tissue over a splint, laser stitches on a jaw line, ultrasound and laser scar tissue from an infected catheter, ultrasound and massage around a overly contracted connection in the croup, laser and massage a tight neck that is lacking a top line, full body treatment including laser, electrical stimulation, photon therapy, massage and stretching on a horse that was sore from a weekend event and a full body treatment including all of those modalities on an overly tight horse. Phew, I am tired! 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴 So, what does your horse need therapy for?

Results Equine Therapy is seeking an assistant to Carrie Ann Kelen for the busy winter season. Responsibilities would include handling horses, carrying and setting up equipment, and being generally helpful to the therapist. Assistance with therapy related techniques may be added according to experience and aptitude. A flexible schedule will be established week by week as appointments are made and will consist of 2-5 days a week for 3-6 hours per day. The position would be ideal for a part-time employee or student. Compensation will be $10 per hour. Time will be spent traveling together by car to treat horses at barns in Aiken and the surrounding areas. Some additional travel and possible overnight stays may be required to towns and shows within a 4 hour drive (Charleston, The Fork, Poplar Place, etc). Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license with own transportation and have prior experience working with horses. This is a great opportunity to learn about equine therapy, gain skills that can be applied to your own horses, and meet prominent members of the equestrian community. Send Carrie Ann Kelen a private message or email [email protected] with your resume or letter of application along with references to support your character and equine experience.

News Years resolution: post more on RET page! Headed to Charleston tomorrow for the first time this year. If you would like to see me there again in the future, just send me a message. I plan to make the trip once or twice a month depending on demand.

Evaluating Jumping Talent in Young Horses

Great article about breaking down your horse's (or potential horse's) jump style to predict his future endurance, resilience and potential. I am always talking with clients about how biomechanics affects the body and performance and now slow motion video is really helping show movement in great detail. http://useventing.com/news/evaluating-jumping-talent-young-horses

Jumping from speed is a hallmark feature of eventing and finding young horses that already exhibit good form for this type of “run and jump” action is a key aspect of building up talents for our

Half way through our month of February "like-a-thon" and we have reached a milestone of $300 for the AIken Equine Rescue! It is a sad fact that many horses suffer from abuse and neglect. Some foals are born as by-products or into unsafe or unfit living situations. Many OTTBs find themselves in deplorable conditions, at shady auctions and even on feed trucks. Wouldn't you like to help remedy these problems? For the month of February Results Equine Therapy will donate one dollar to The Aiken Equine Rescue for every like our page receives (up to $1000). The Aiken Equine Rescue is the largest equine rescue in SC. Their mission is to rescue unwanted horses and provide each with food, medical attention and personal care until they find them a suitable home. They have placed over 600 horses since they opened in 2006. Likewise, Results Equine Therapy has treated over 250 horses locally since beginning business in 2008. Won’t you give us both a hand in helping Aiken’s equines in 2015? Of course you should feel free to donate to their cause on your own as well, but I thought this would be fun and beneficial too! Please share this and thank you!

Fittening the Event Horse a Hot Topic at International Eventing Forum - Eventing Nation -...

Nice article about "the fittening" of the event horse. I always praise and encourage variety and cross training in every riding program, whether it is for the eventer, the dressage horse or the trail horse. The more experiences your horse has, the better his body and mind will be able to handle the unexpected. I also appreciate a program that conditions a horse for their level of competition but also works in rides where the horse can stretch and move more naturally in order to promote recovery and relaxation. http://eventingnation.com/home/fittening-the-event-horse-a-hot-topic-at-international-eventing-forum/

Prominent vet Hugh Suffern and renowned racehorse trainer Charlie Longsdon joined Andrew Nicholson to share their insight on the topic of fittening the event horse today at the International Eventing Forum at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. Read on

Study: Many herbal supplements aren't what the label says

I often warn people about the supplements they take and the ones they give their animals. Make sure you are getting yours from a reputable source and don't be shy about doing some extra research on each and every product. Also, don't feed yourself or your animals something they don't actually need, you may unknowingly off set some important dietary necessities. http://chronicle.augusta.com/latest-news/2015-02-03/study-many-herbal-supplements-arent-what-label-says

ALBANY, N.Y. — DNA testing on hundreds of bottles of herbal supplements sold as treatments for everything from memory loss to prostate trouble found that four out of five contained none of the herbs on the label.
