🐾 BEFORE YOU JUDGE THE CAREGIVER, TRY CARRYING THEIR BURDEN.

Behind every feeding station, every bowl of food, and every shelter is someone making sacrifices that most people will never see.

Many caregivers are struggling with their own health, financial hardships, personal losses, and responsibilities, yet they continue showing up because innocent animals depend on them.

It’s easy to criticize from the sidelines. It’s much harder to carry the responsibility day after day, especially when resources are limited and help is scarce.

No caregiver is perfect. We all make mistakes, and accountability matters. But so do compassion, understanding, and kindness.

Before you criticize what someone isn’t doing, consider what they’re already sacrificing to do what they can.

Sometimes the greatest difference you can make isn’t pointing out what someone is doing wrong. It’s offering a helping hand.

A little compassion goes a long way, for both the animals and the people who care for them. 🐾

Almost 2 years of being the caretaker of an immobile kitty who relies on me for everything ❤️

Sinny has been going with me, riding sh***un, back and forth to vet appointments and etc. This is so he gets plenty of enrichment and doesn't get mentally bored.

Uno's Home is different from so many rescues here in Alabama. I personally take on complex medical cases and they stay in rescue for life. I can't take them all but I hope I inspire others to be a caretaker of a special cat or dog. The blind, the deaf, the limb different, the brain disorders, and more. They all deserve a chance and to be loved!

Bless their hearts, they do that so much. Let's get them fixed and feed them. Let's knock a lot of stress off of them. So many of them used to be a pet that was abandoned or became lost. We are far from where we can help. Food and spay and neuter. And I just want to reiterate that people demand that I take them out of town, I have really no where for them to go. One person wants me to take them out of town. Can we just get them fixed and fed, that ends the life cycle of having kittens. It will keep cats that are dropped here away from the colony. Makes for healthier cats. They are great mousers. But they need feed. Please don't be mad about them not going somewhere else. They really don't live very long being outside. Please let's make a solution to end unwanted kittens being born. Please help us to help them. If you could donate to Ackley Veterinary for a spay or neuter and could continue to help feed them this winter I would truly appreciate all the help I get. I use Purina Kitten Chow and wet food for the calories they need to survive the winter, I want to get them fixed in the early spring. Kitten season will be here before I know it. I have faith in the people of Ackley and am so very Thankful for the food we have received. If you can feed the ones you see that would be such a Blessing. Feral Cat Food Donations. Last time we got 30 bags of Cat Food donated and it lasted us 6 wks, but we are almost out. We help 5 colonies that either have been TNR or we are working on it. Some sweet ladies continue to feed even after all fixed and we want to take care of the food. So please help if you can. And thank you to all who donated last time for the Feral Colonies.

TNVR volunteers cannot “fix” your cat problem.

They cannot make them disappear or take care of them themselves.

TNVR is not just the shelter or rescue’s problem.
It is a community problem.

Your family, friends, neighbors, you know someone who has allowed their pet to not be spayed or neutered and roam outside, have an “accidental” litter or just let them out to fend for themselves.

This is not accidental.
Animal overpopulation is not accidental.
It happened intentionally every time a pet was left to not be spayed or neutered.

The only way to “fix” it is to do it ourselves.

Reach out to programs in your area. If you don’t have one contact local rescues, shelters and sanctuaries. Explain you want to TNR, give them numbers (adults and kittens), locations, but most of all be willing to put in the work too.

This is not a one man job.

Rent traps, make appointments, start fundraising, donate, educate! Talk to friends and neighbors. Ask for help! Make a wishlist! Get the word out!

The reality is everyone is full and exhausted but it is not over. Together, we can prevent more suffering.

This is the feeding station for the colony, and this is their winter housing that is full of straw and totes inside. I want to thank Evan Harryson for helping to make sure that they will be very warm this winter and that their feeding station will be out of the elements this winter. I couldn't do this by myself without him. And I appreciate so much for all that he has done to make sure that these little guys are out of the elements. I am so proud of what he has done and accomplished for us. You're an awesome young man and I appreciate you so much. I'm proud of you for the young man that you are. Thank you so much. You're such an asset to the community. And I know your parents have to be proud of you. Thank you Evan 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️

I'm absolutely heartbroken, I went to the house where the beautiful kitties that I am taking care of. I pulled up to Franklin and there was one of the beautiful babies lying in the road. I hate this part. I buried her in my yard.
At least she knew someone cared for her by feeding her and talking softly.
