Coop & Pixie... Still available for adoption 💗

I never thought it would be so hard to find a home for a healthy, young puppy. But here we are, months later & Pixie is still waiting for a loving home ☹️

Coop & Pixie are our youngest fosters. They arrived together about 2 months ago & really enjoy their playtime together. Both would benefit from having another dog in their home to play with. Of course, you could always just adopt them both 😂🙏

Pixie is a sweet 4 month old Pittie/Australian Cattle dog mix. She currently weighs 20 lbs but is expected to be closer to 50 lbs once fully grown. This is an important time in her life to receive puppy training & to bond with her new family. Pixie is spayed, microchipped & current on vaccines.

Coop is a 2 yr old JRT mix that weighs 18 lbs. His leg was previously shattered and is beyond repair. He walks with a limp but gets around just fine. He can be nervous meeting new people but warms up to be a loving companion. Coop is neutered, microchipped & current on vaccines.

🐾 Welcome Toby to Humphrey House 🐾

Meet Toby, a super sweet Cairn Terrier, who's just as charming as Toto from the Land of Oz! At 16 years young and 10 pounds, this little guy is proof that great things come in small, furry packages.

Toby was found as a stray, but his journey is taking a turn for the best. While the shelter was able to find his previous owner, they made the tough decision that they couldn't provide the care he needs, both physically and financially. Now, Toby is looking for a comfy couch and a loving lap to call his very own.

He's currently with us at Humphrey House Rescue in Abingdon, Maryland, and is getting ready for a fresh start. We are scheduling a dental appointment soon to make sure his smile is as bright as his personality! Once he's all cleared, he'll be ready to meet his new family.

Get ready to fall in love! This is Pixie, a 15-week-old bundle of joy who's on the lookout for her forever family. She's a sweet and playful mix of Pitbull and Australian Cattle Dog, which means she's got tons of energy and loves to play.

But the most charming thing about Pixie? Her ears! They're growing faster than the rest of her body and have a personality of their own. One minute they're up, the next they're flopped over, and they make every one of her expressions even cuter.

Available for adoption: Coop, a little dog with a big heart who's looking for a second chance at a forever home.

Meet Coop, a sweet and resilient 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who's ready to fill your life with love and laughter. Coop's journey hasn't been easy—he came to us with a shattered leg and a dislocated elbow. Unfortunately his leg is beyond repair & he's left with a permanent limp. Because of this, many people have overlooked this sweet boy, and we can't let that continue.

Coop's spirit is anything but broken. He doesn't let his disability slow him down, and he loves to play, cuddle, and explore. He gets along great with other dogs, and his favorite thing in the world is a good belly rub. He may not be able to go on long hikes, but he'll make the perfect companion for neighborhood strolls, cozy movie nights, and all the love you can give.

All Coop wants is a warm bed and a family to call his own. He deserves to know what it feels like to be truly wanted, not for what he can do, but for who he is—a brave, loving, and incredibly deserving dog.

Our puppy Pixie is growing up right before our eyes.

She was only 7 weeks old when she came to us & is now a 14 week old teenager.

The plan was to adopt her out with a contract to be spayed in a few months, but with no adoption interest, we went ahead & had her spayed yesterday. She also received her big-girl rabies vaccine 🎉

Pixie currently weighs 18 lbs & is expected to be around 40-50 lbs once fully grown. Her main breeds include Pittie & Australian Cattle dog. She will require training, as any puppy should. She would love another dog in the home to help her learn.

Brownie is 9 lbs of judgement & pure stubbornness.

He thinks he's a Rottweiler and doesn't realize he is stuck in a Chihuahua sized body.

He will take on a grizzly bear & expect the bear to curl up in a fetal position in fear. He can make a mountain lion run for their life. He can put out a fire just by lifting his leg 🔥🤣

He's not deaf, but he will ignore you as if he is 🤷

He's not looking for love... He's looking for a position as your bodyguard. He will happily protect you from annoying telemarketers ringing your doorbell or from the in-laws that randomly show up without warning. He will gladly accept payment in the form of treats & string cheese.

This 6 year old fearless warrior will be spouting out curse words throughout his day, so it's best he doesn't live with small impressionable children.

After 2 months in a home, Snow is back at Humphrey House ☹️

Snow originally came to us from a neglectful hoarding situation. She was understandably nervous. She had a large tumor on her face that was successfully removed by our amazing vet. Luckily it was non-cancerous & she healed quickly.

It took several months for Snow to finally be adopted. She was scared at a new beginning, but was so happy to find a home of her own. It seemed perfect. A nice quiet home on the water with an older couple. Everything was going great, until the couples adult daughter moved back home 😔

Apparently this adult made a bad impression on Snow. She was loud & liked to yell for her parents through the door instead of opening it & speaking in a normal manner. The yelling caused Snow to react defensively, so she was returned.

Snow is a sweet senior girl that has been let down by humans. More than once. She is seeking a quiet FOREVER home to live out her golden years.

Snow is nervous at first but warms up to be a Velcro dog that looks to her human for guidance. Once attached, she does become protective of her humans. I don't blame her. She doesn't want to lose another family.

Snow is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs just over 20 lbs. She is quite energetic for her age. She loves to run & play but also enjoys a good nap.

It's official... Scout is off of stray hold & ready for adoption.

Scout is a 12 month old mixed breed pup that weighs 12 lbs. Our best guess is that he is a min pin or doxy mixed with chi but it's anybody's guess. He was just neutered, microchipped, vaccinated & tested negative for any tick/mosquito diseases.

Scout is a typical high energy, playful pup that needs to learn some manners. He loves to chew on things (mostly toys but also my slippers 🙃) He is also still working on house training. He tries to dart out of the door every chance he gets. He will need a home that is devoted to giving him the structure that he needs.

✨ The adventures of Pixie ✨

Pixie had a blast at Tractor Supply today.

She received her 3rd set of puppy vaccines & enjoyed browsing the toy aisle. Everyone wanted to stop & pet this adorable puppy, although the people in line behind us were not amused when the cashier held up the line to play with her 🤣

Her main breeds are pittie & Australian Cattle dog, so she is expected to be around 40/50 lbs when fully grown. She would benefit from another dog to help teach her the household routine & will require basic training from her human.

Pixie is spayed, microchipped & current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is 200.

Coop & Scout... Instant buddies 💗

Whoever adopts either of these boys better have lots of energy 🤣

Coop: White & brown. 2 yr old, 18 lb JRT mix. Has a gimpy front leg from his elbow previously being shattered & dislocated but that doesn't stop him from enjoying a beautiful Sunday morning. He can be initially nervous meeting new people. Especially men ☹️ but as you can see, he warms up to be a playful, affectionate pup. He would LOVE another dog to play with in his new home.

Scout: 1 yr old, 12 lb male chi mix. High energy pup that requires basic training. *Adopted*

Adopted 🎉
Welcome Scout to Humphrey House.

For now, Scout is just a guest on stray hold. He was found on July 3rd wandering the streets of Baltimore City. He has been posted on the lost/found sites & a report was made with Barcs.

His stray hold will be up on July 24th. If an owner isn't found, he will be vetted & placed for adoption.

Scout is a super sweet, affectionate & playful pup. He is estimated to be 1 year old & weighs 12 lbs. Our best guess is that he is a chi-weenie (chi/dachshund) or chi-pin (chi/min pin)
