For those Veterinarians, PTs, handlers or trainers that are just getting started in the world of Athletic and Working Dogs, I thought I might create a presentation discussing some basic exercise principles and how to address the dog's specialized metabolic nuances. I uploaded it to my YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YSZ4LJB7EM . Sometimes it is a little easier to develop a conditioning program if you have an idea of what's happening. There is much more to it than is covered in this presentation but it is a start. For endurance dogs, like Hunting dogs or tracking dogs, it can take 4-6 weeks for the body to adapt to a new level. In many cases the conditioning should be in place year round. Thanks to everyone for your interest.
