At what age can a kitten move to a new home?
When kittens are small, they are so cute, funny, and playful that you want to take them home as soon as possible, play with them, raise them, and nurture them yourself. It seems so easy, because these little fluffballs have already learned to eat on their own, use the litter box, and scratch post.
However, little Maine C***s can only move to a new home after three months, or even closer to four, when they are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and no longer need their mother's milk.
After revaccination, the kittens must undergo the necessary quarantine period, as it takes some time for a stable immune system to develop.
Moving is always stressful, and due to stress during adaptation, as well as immediately after vaccination, kittens' immunity drops, making them more vulnerable and defenseless.
To strengthen their immunity after vaccination, kittens still desperately need their mother's milk, so they must stay with their mother.
If you want to have a healthy kitten that will bring you joy for many years and not cause you trouble due to poor health, do not rush to take it away from its mother.
At three and a half to four months, Maine C***s are already quite independent, well-behaved, adapted, and ready to bring only positive emotions.
