Uroplatus ebenaui, also known as spear-point leaf-tailed gecko - the smallest species in the genus, endemic to Nosy Be and the lowland forests of northern Madagascar. In our experience with this species, U. ebenaui displays the most diverse natural color variation among all Uroplatus we keep - from almost white to dark chocolate brown, with individuals showing spotted patterns, blotches, or stripes that mimic plant veins. One of the things that makes this species particularly interesting is that they can be accurately sexed from the moment of hatching. Timon lepidus, the largest lacertid native to Europe, has a truly incredible melanistic morph! Entirely black individuals are rarely observed in the wild, so what you see in this photo is the result of selective captive breeding and establishing the black morph lines. Adult males develop a broad, powerful head and can reach up to 60 cm in total length. In reality they look much more impressive than on photo-shots. Ever wondered why Rhacodactylus leachianus looks like it’s wearing a skin two sizes too big? That loose, wrinkled skin is not a flaw - it is an adaptation. When the gecko presses itself flat against tree bark, the excess skin spreads and eliminates the shadow outline of its body, making it significantly harder to spot. For an animal that spends its days motionless in the forest canopy, disappearing into the bark is the whole game. Couple of photo-shots from the terrariums of our Sceloporus minor (minor lizards)! Males still fire-up from time to time, but we don't think it will result in something, as it is the end of breeding season.
Babies grow well and soon will be separated into bigger terrariums.

This time, it’s our Sorong babies beginning to emerge from their eggs! The male from this pairing is incredibly unique, with splashes of white running the entire length of his body and a stunning blue dorsal stripe. I’m really excited to see how these little ones develop!
