Here's one I wish I'd tracked sooner: How often does your dog make it onto the couch/bed on the first try vs needing a second jump?

The shift from "one jump, nails it" to "sometimes needs two tries" is SO gradual you don't notice you're watching them more carefully now.

That's early joint pain, muscle weakness, or depth perception changes showing up.

But you can't tell your vet "this started failing 4 months ago" because you weren't counting attempts.

This is exactly what VetSmart is for - tracking the stuff you see but don't measure.

Does your dog wake up at the same time every day, or has that internal clock shifted?

Used to wake you up at 6:30am like clockwork, now it's 5:00am?

Or sleeping in until 8:00am when they used to be up at 6?

Changes in sleep/wake cycles can indicate:

Pain (waking earlier because discomfort disrupts sleep)
Cognitive changes (confusion about routine)
Hormonal shifts (thyroid, Cushing's)
Anxiety

You know they're waking up at different times, but can you tell your vet WHEN the pattern changed? VetSmart tracks it.

Most skin problems don’t start as “mange.”

They start as:
• A little more scratching than usual
• Hair thinning in small patches
• Redness you think will pass

And then weeks later… you realize it wasn’t just irritation.

Mange doesn’t just affect the skin, it affects comfort, sleep, and your pet’s overall health. The sooner you act, the easier recovery becomes.

Mange Cure was created from real veterinary experience to do more than just soothe the surface.

It helps:
✅ Target mites linked to mange-related skin problems
✅ Support healing of damaged, irritated skin
✅ Reduce itching, crusting, and redness
✅ Protect against secondary bacterial and fungal issues

This isn’t about guessing or waiting for things to get worse.

It’s about giving your pet relief while supporting real recovery.

If your dog is scratching more than usual or losing patches of hair, don’t ignore the early signs.

If your dog scratches their ears, do they scratch both sides equally, or is one side getting way more attention?

Most people notice "my dog scratches their ears a lot."

But WHICH ear, and is it always the same one?

Unilateral (one-sided) scratching points to:

Infection in that specific ear
Allergy presenting asymmetrically
Foreign object or irritation on one side

You see the scratching. VetSmart helps you see the pattern of WHERE.

Spend 60 seconds a day and never walk into a vet visit guessing again.

In just 7 days, you’ll start noticing the small changes most owners miss, using a vet-structured 60-second daily check.

Your dog used to play with their favorite toy for 10-15 minutes. Now it's more like 2-3 minutes before they lose interest.

You think: "They're bored with that toy."

Vets think: Decreased stamina, pain when holding objects, vision changes, cognitive decline.

It's not that they don't WANT to play - it's that something makes sustained play harder.

You buy new toys thinking that'll help. But tracking how long they engage with ANY toy tells a different story.

Quick thought while standing in the pet food aisle today…

We all know the obvious stuff we’re not supposed to feed dogs, chocolate, grapes, onions, etc. Most owners already know that.

What most people *don’t* realize is that some of the things affecting pets aren’t coming from table scraps at all… they’re coming from the labels on bags we trust every single week.

I started paying closer attention to ingredient lists a while back and honestly, it was eye-opening how many “premium” foods still hide vague meat sources, heavy fillers, or preservatives most people never notice.

So I made myself a simple checklist, nothing complicated, just a quick red-flag list I can glance at while shopping so I don’t stand there feeling overwhelmed.

A few friends asked for it, so I turned it into a small guide.

It’s not a lecture on nutrition and it’s not about fear, just a straightforward way to flip a bag over and decide faster.

I’m offering it here for $7 because it took time to put together and keep updated, but if you’re the kind of owner who likes knowing *exactly* what you’re buying, you’ll probably find it useful.

We all know the human food that we are not supposed to feed our pets.

Chocolate. Grapes. Onions. The obvious stuff.

The Never Feed This List is not that.

It’s not another scare poster about table scraps.

It’s a simple way to spot the ingredients hiding inside “premium” pet foods that most owners never realize they’re feeding, vague meat sources, synthetic preservatives, and fillers dressed up as high-quality nutrition.

Because the truth is… most people aren’t making bad choices.
They’re just trusting labels that were designed to sound good, not be clear.

You don’t need to become a nutrition expert.
You don’t need to memorize complicated rules.

You just need a quick red-flag system you can use right there in the aisle, flip the bag, check the first ten ingredients, and know in under a minute whether it’s worth feeding or not.

I put the whole thing together into a small guide that I personally use when shopping.

It’s $7, and honestly it saves more time (and second-guessing) than anything else I’ve tried.

This is a weird one, but it matters: Does your dog approach their food bowl straight-on, or do they come at it from the side now?
Side-approaching can indicate:

Neck pain (hard to lower head straight down)

Vision changes (approaching from an angle gives better depth perception)

Jaw/dental pain (adjusting angle to eat more comfortably)

You're there at every meal. But did you notice the approach changed? Probably not, unless you were specifically watching for it.

You know that thing dogs do where they shake their whole body like they're drying off... but they're not wet?

That's a stress-relief behavior.

It helps them reset after tension.

If your dog is doing this WAY more often than usual - after interactions, before walks, randomly during the day - it can indicate:

Increased anxiety
Physical discomfort they're trying to "shake off"
Overstimulation

You see it happen but probably don't count how often. VetSmart does.

Your dog yawns. Normal, right?

But excessive yawning (not after waking up) is actually a stress signal in dogs.

It can also indicate nausea, oral discomfort, or anxiety.

The problem? You see them yawn all the time, so you don't notice if it's 2 yawns a day vs 10.

Vets ask: "Have you noticed stress behaviors?" and most people say "not really" because they're not tracking frequency.

This is another one of those background behaviors VetSmart helps you quantify.

👋 Just to add a little context here:

VetSmart isn’t meant to replace your vet or push panic, it’s simply a way to help you **notice patterns earlier** so conversations with your vet are clearer and less stressful.

A lot of people have asked what counts as a “small change,” so here are a few examples owners mention all the time:

• Hesitating to jump into the car
• Sleeping more or following you around more
• Changes in appetite or excitement for treats
• Moving slower at night

Also, yes, the **$27 price is only for 3 days**, then it returns to $37.

If you’re not sure whether something you’re noticing matters, drop it below

👇 I’ll try to give some general guidance where I can.
