MEET THE FLOCK:
BIRDIE
Species: Sun Conure (Female)
Adoption Day: 6th Jan 2023
Estimated Birthday: Jan 2021
Birdie was surrendered to me by a man who thought she would have a better life here than what he could give her. Her story goes something like this: She was part of a pair that was gifted to the afore-mentioned man by his father for a special occasion. However, the man did not want parrots and was a bit upset about the situation. Nonetheless, he took good care of them and even let them free-fly. Then, one unfortunate day, Birdie disappeared. Her mate grew so depressed that they died of heartbreak. (A well-documented phenomenon). Then, suddenly, Birdie returned…but to an empty nest. Her previous owner suspects she was caught by someone and then escaped and found her way back. Whatever the case, the man now had a sad and lonely bird yet again. So, instead of purchasing another parrot from the pet industry to try and keep her company, he gave her to me and I’m so glad he did. Birdie is by far my biggest snuggle-buddy and head-scratches enthusiast; she always sleeps with me on my bed (in a special box so I won’t accidentally squish her). She is loyal and fierce and has a heart absolutely bursting with love. I can’t imagine life without her.
