[UP FOR ADOPTION] Type R (nickname: riri) is the runt of her litter, but don’t let her size fool you—she’s built for sp*ed! This tiny dynamo is always on the move. She absolutely lives for her wheel and will run for hours, even taking little naps on her wheel.

Unlike some of her more dramatic siblings, Type R is relatively comfortable around humans. She’s happy to take treats and go about her day without much fuss, though she’s always ready to dart away. She's still a baby, so she needs some time to warm up to being handled and being around humans.

✨ Meet Lotus✨

Found wandering the HDB estates, covered in dirt and missing fur, Lotus has transformed into a total beauty with her soft, lotus biscoff-colored coat! 🌸💛 After weeks of love and care, she’s ready to find her forever home, and her glow-up is nothing short of magical!

Lotus is an active digger who loves burrowing in soft, comfy bedding. She enjoys digging through coco peat, Witte Molen sand, and Oxbow Pure Comfort bedding — so she’ll need lots of substrate to keep her busy! 🏞️ Fresh water is a must every day, and she’s happy with either a water bottle or a dish. And if you’ve got walnuts, macadamia nuts, or pine nuts on hand, Lotus will be your new best friend! 🌰

While Lotus is still learning to accept affection, she’s making amazing progress. She may nibble your fingers when taking treats, so it’s best to avoid hand-feeding small pieces for now.

🏡 Her ideal setup? A quiet space, away from direct sunlight, with no big drops in her cage since she’s a little jumper. Gentle, patient adopters who can provide her with a safe and cozy environment are what she needs to thrive! She’s come a long way, and now she’s looking for a forever home that will shower her with the love she deserves.

In the early hours at around 12:40 AM, our team rescued a neglected hamster living in a subpar filthy cage full of garbage, with no proper food or water.

Thankfully we were able to reach her ASAP, even though it was reaching 2AM. This rescue serves as an important a reminder that as pet owners, we are responsible for their lives and for making the best possible choices for them.

Neglect isn't just harmful - It’s a crime with serious consequences, including a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or a 12 month jail sentence. If you are not able to care for your pet, please contact a reputable animal welfare group for assistance.

[Adopted ⭐️]
🐹 Meet McChicken, one of the adorable hamsters named after McDonald’s food! She’s a fan favorite with her tiny eyes and chubby cheeks.🍔 Her diet includes seed mix and dried flowers, and she loves vacuuming everything into her cheeks for later. It’s cute to watch her break up larger pieces of food!

McChicken is getting used to being handled, especially if you have food in your hand. Just a heads-up—she can get startled by loud noises. She loves chilling in toilet rolls (but they need frequent replacing) and enjoys digging in sand, so a deep layer is great for her. 🏖️ She also likes to burrow in cozy bedding to feel safe.

Be warned: she’s quite the pooper! You’ll find little surprises near her wheel, which can be pretty funny. 😄

Woody 🐹 and other hamsters were rescued from a hoarding situation. Despite some bite wounds, Woody is gentle and has never bitten his fosterer. He loves running on the wheel 🏃‍♂️ and often has nighttime marathons. He’s semi-p*e trained, using the sand bath 🏖, but may occasionally p*e on the wheel, so a non-wooden one is needed.

Though shy, Woody will come for his favorite treats 🍏! You can find him relaxing in the sand bath or ceramic hideouts during the day. He enjoys harvesting flax sprays 🌾 and working on his shelled walnut 🌰. His history of soft stools is resolved, but his adopter should monitor his poops 👀. With time and love ❤️, Woody will warm up and be your pal!

Goma is quite the cautious cutie, always preferring to stick her little nosie out of her preferred hidey of the month, rather than run out paws first. And with her origin story being what it is, it makes perfect sense! Like many of the hamsters that come to HSS, she was abandoned in a cage with her sister at a void deck, and whilst the two girls were hiding, people began to use the cage for trash as it looked empty!! And it didn’t end there: Her fosterer thought she was a boy for the first month or so of her stay. THE AUDACITY!!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully, she hasn’t let any of these ‘instances’ get in-between her and a better life. As she is still quite a young ham, she is still figuring things out. Is it food or finger? Are you friend or foe? Am I friendly or fearful? Just be patient with her, give her time and treaties and soon she will learn to trust you. In fact! As of typing, she has started to trust her fosterer and approach her hand cautiously to be taken out for a little run around on the couch or her fosterer’s father. While out and about she enjoys a bit of ‘sayang’ time, aka getting nice pets and treaties, and being told what a pretty girl she is and how beautiful and soft her fur is.

Goma is a big fan of all the usual fan favourites: pine nuts, dehydrated tofu, flax seed sprays, but she also loves her fresh veggies! Luckily she’s not a huge hoarder and will eat her fresh goodies as soon as she gets her little pink paws on them. She’s also a huge fan of making her own tunnels and would really benefit from deep bedding in at least half of her enclosure. And even though she is partially potty trained, she still has a habit of p*eing on her wheel and occasionally her favourite hidey. But you just can’t get mad because she’s so adorable!!!

Oden is a happy go lucky girl! She is curious and comes out when she hears you around or calling out her name. She can be cuddled and carried easily. She is also a huge food lover and will empty her food bowl and stash everything in her favourite hideout, making you think you are starving her even though you just fed her one day ago! Oden loves to hide all day but can be easily found sticking her head out to take a p*ek at you when you are near her cage.

Oden was found crammed into a food container with other hamsters, beside a rubbish bin in a carpark. But despite her rough start, she's doing great now, thanks to her foster family. She thankfully has no health conditions and is happily eating to her hearts content with her fosterer. Are you ready to open your heart to Oden? She promises to fill your days with love, laughter, and lots of snuggles.

Zorra was part of the combined rescue case along SPCA, LHR and HSS. She is a really intelligent girl who could jail break her pet carrier, however, if she is satisfied with her home, she will make no such attempt. She is highly treat-motivated and can be trained to perform simple tricks with a simple ‘payment’ of pine nuts. She is learning spin-spin currently.

The name Zorra originates from Spain's Eurovision entry song. Initially intended as a derogatory term towards females, the Spanish team now seeks to redefine its meaning as a symbol of empowerment, challenging its previous connotations of degradation. Secondly, she is indeed a ‘vixen’ with her alluring eyeshadow and constant filled fat pouches.

Zorra is a shy girl but loves to hang around the platform at night. You might find her on a marble top when you return home from work, I believe she likes the cool tile. She is not fully toilet trained and often marks her sleeping areas with her p*e.. So it is not recommended to do deep burrows for her yet.
