The Cat People creates harmony within cat-human environments. With great appreciation and gratitude to our customers who trust us with the lives of their felines and the creation of harmony within their cat-human habitats, we developed our expanse of experience and skills in the management of safety and psychological welfare within cat-human habitats, and we will continue to learn and evolve to be

tter serve cats and their humans. What started from a need to find appropriate resources for creating a harmonious environment for our founder Alen and her two cats, has become more than a business. The Cat People is as much a business as we are a mission, an advocate of cat safety and for the harmonious coexistence of cats in a human environment. While we are familiar with the old ways of humans having cats in their homes, modern infrastructure and lifestyles also mean that the old ways need to evolve if we are to maintain an equilibrium of harmony for our cat-human environments. To effectively address the physiological and psychological requirements of felines, we always consider the basic nature of cats and their needs and through research and case studies. This is now even more urgent as our environment and lifestyles evolve at an even faster rate than felines can naturally evolve to safely adapt. They have not evolved quickly enough to appreciate the dangers of climbing in high-rise environments, for living permanently in a confined space, nor for reacting safely to high-speed vehicles. We address these natural tendencies within your environment with consultation and site visits to acquaint ourselves with your furry and not-so-furry family members and the safety and aesthetic requirements of the environment. Meet Muffin, Marshmallow & Maple — three sweet girls with three very different purrsonalities, all rescued and now finally home. 🩷

Muffin and Marshmallow moved in first, both adventurous climbers who adore being up high. Muffin is our gentle girl who gets startled by loud sounds but finds comfort in her cosy box. Marshmallow? Total bowl princess. If there’s a bowl, she’s in it. 😸💛

And then came little Maple — the newest addition. Just 6 months old and already melting hearts with her soft, shy charm. She was adopted after the family moved in, completing the trio of sisters. 🍁💕

Their pawrents created this cat room just for them — a warm, bright space connected to the living room through a large glass panel, so the girls are always in sight. We built a self-standing natural tree, a floor-to-ceiling post by the window, and a link above the window leading to a cosy hideout box, so they can climb, explore, and snooze safely.

It’s always such a joy to see rescued cats thriving in a home designed just for them. ✨🐾

Bowls, shelves, and happy tails! 🐾

Goma and Ebi have always loved their bowls, but sharing one on their old cat condo was starting to cause some traffic jams. 😹 With little Tsuki joining the family, their pawrents decided it was time for an upgrade — and a brand new cat station was born!

The brief:
✨ Two comfy bowls (no more sharing!)
✨ Long, sturdy shelves for Goma to stretch out
✨ Space to house their large litter box
✨ And a clever linkway between the study table and wardrobe — without drilling into the wall

Since the drawers under the study table weren’t in use, we designed a full-length cat station across the wall with just the right allowance for the wardrobe drawers to open.

Now, Goma, Ebi, and Tsuki use it daily — lounging, climbing, and enjoying their vertical playground. Their pawrents love how the cats move freely without leaping dangerously between furniture.

Kevin’s pawrents wanted him a cozy bowl seat by the window — a perfect lookout for their curious boy. They were also concerned about the ceiling fan blades, so the cat station had to be built at the safe window height.

The space between the sofa and the TV console presented a challenge: designing a sturdy station that wouldn’t block legroom or prevent the TV console drawers from opening fully. The result is a stable, custom-built perch that fits perfectly in the space while keeping everything functional for the humans.

Kevin has quickly claimed his new bowl seat as his favorite spot. From here, he can survey the outdoors, bask in the sunlight, stretch comfortably, and even watch his humans during movie nights in the living room. It’s the perfect combination of safety, comfort, and curiosity — and everyone is happier for it! 💛🐾

Our Story

Behind The Cat People are two ladies – Helene and Alen. We joined forces to offer consultancy services to keep cat safe and help owners and cats improve their relationship. We want to help give cats the best chance for a forever and happy home. Together, we combine more than 40 years experience understanding cat’s mind and behaviour and applying practical solutions to single and multi-cat households. We provide hands on experience as well in the field of home safety, enriching your cat’s home environment thereby expanding your cat’s happiness and mental health. We have been using specialized cat nets and other catification features for more than 10 years. We hope that our cat experience will benefit others and help educate and grow the bond between owners and their cats, dispersing misconceptions about felines. We wish you to be as entertained, fascinated and loved as we have been by our own cats. Happy Cat Happy Family!
