One of the hardest parts of being a groomer is watching our beloved furry clients grow older and frailer. 💔

These photos were taken just two months apart. Skin and eye issues meant a shave-down was needed, and an eye infection has left this sweet boy struggling to open his eyes.

While I can’t turn back time, I can make sure every groom is done with patience, compassion, and his comfort as the top priority. Senior pets deserve all the kindness we can give them. ❤️🐾

Kept feeling that someone was watching me groom. When I turn around this is who it was 🤣 guess the dog has a guardian angel watching to make sure nothing goes wrong

Was requested to brush this out 😱. Unfortunately, with this level of severe matting—especially when the coat comes off in carpet-like sheets—brushing is not a viable or humane option. The most comfortable and humane approach is to shave the coat down and start fresh.

Attempting to brush through tight mats can cause significant pain, skin irritation, and “brush burn,” while still not effectively removing all the tangles. In addition, the coat structure is already heavily compromised, meaning it will likely re-mat very quickly even after dematting.

With the shaver placement, this almost feels like an advert for Heiniger 😆

Can’t emphasise enough how important groomer-grade tools are. Despite how costly they may be it is important to invest in good ones. Skill matters, but having reliable equipment is just as essential in delivering a smooth, quality groom every time.

There are relatively few surprises in home grooming after nearly 4 years under my belt. This, however, was one of the rare alfresco fur cuts requested by the owner. The result? One smooth teddy bear retriever 🐻✂️

Spent my sabbath gravitating towards every furball in sight 🐶❤️ Café owner: “You don’t have a dog?” Me: “Erm… about that… I don’t” 😂 Just out here borrowing everyone else’s dogs and soaking up the love 🤣 Thankfully, both doggos and owners are generous with the cuddles
