Association One Rescue is a warm and caring private animal rescue shelter at Cosoba, Giurgiu, Romania Our story starts in 2014.

Association One Rescue’s founder is Adina Vladut, veterinarian who also owns the Onevet clinic together with her husband. Dr. Adina Vladut has a long career as a veterinarian, and almost as long she has been helping homeless dogs and cats in Romania. The big step was taken forward in her rescue work in 2014. From the need to be able to help and shelter abandoned animals, she decided to rent an old

and dilapidated farm and plot in the village of Cosoba at Giurgiu county. Cosoba is located relatively near Bucharest. The location is good and peaceful, it's at the edge of the village and middle of countryside Romania. This was the final selection criterion for Dr. Adina when she visited the farm for the first time. Shelter is built in a yard of 1.5 hectares. Dr. Adina started diligently building kennels and paddocks for the dogs on the farm so that she could help them more. Shelter is improving year by year up to this date and we have a plan to do so in upcoming years as well. Association One Rescue was created in the 3rd year of the shelter in 2017, to be able to support the operations and make the shelter official. Currently, the shelter is a safe haven for our 500 dogs and cats. Our vision is to have a better future for the animals in the shelter and also in the area around us. We hope to achieve less abandonment by keeping ongoing spay and neuter days month after month at the clinic space that is part of the shelter.

Little Theo came to us together with his mom and 6 siblings. Puppies were only few weeks old at the time when we received them. Theo together with the siblings attended to PetExpo event during weekend, all his 6 siblings had good luck and they found homes during the past 2 days, only Theo remained with us.

Theo wishes to find his own family too. Theo is now 2,5months old, he is social, loving, playful, sweet and cute little puppy. He is mild, curious and nice, suitable for many kinds of homes and enviroments. Theo met children at PetExpo event and liked them a lot too, he would be good option for a family too. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Theo will be medium size as an adult.

Amazing weekend behind us at PetExpo and we are happy to share the wonderful news! Many people came to visit our stand and greet our puppies and cats. Many of them found and met their new families, total 12 puppies and 23 kittens & cats got adopted 🐶🐱🤩

Asa au ajuns la noi..nu sunt foarte multe cuvinte de spus, imaginile spun totul..
Micutii au intrat pe tratament imediat si vom vedea cm evolueaza.
Asta este cauza abandonului si a nesterilizarii. Ne dorim ca acest mesaj sa ajunga la cat mai multi dintre voi si sa constintizati cu totii importanta sterilizarii.
Si sa nu uitam ca ei au fost totusi norocosi. Altii din pacate, nu sunt gasiti niciodata de nimeni si sfarsesc singuri si nevazuti.

Si bineinteles pe langa ei, celelate sute de animalute din adapost au nevoie de hrana zilnica, de caldura si uneori si de medicamente in functie de caz.

Cei patru muschetari vor avea nevoie de un lung si costisitor tratament si de o perioada mare de recuperare.

That's how they arrived to us.. there aren't many words to say, the pictures say it all..
The little ones started their treatment immediately.
This is the cause of abandon and non-sterilization. We want this message to reach as many of you as possible and to make you all aware of the importance of sterilization.
And let's not forget that they were still lucky. Others, unfortunately, are never found by anyone and end up alone and unseen.

And of course, besides them, the other hundreds of animals in the shelter need daily food, heat and sometimes medicine depending on the case.

The four musketeers will need a long and expensive treatment and a long recovery period.

This week we didn't have new adoptions, but January was overall good month for us. 16 dogs and 8 cats found their loving families during this first month of the year ❤️

On upcoming week we will also have visitors from on Thursday and Friday and we are looking forward to see the team and to introduce them our dogs. We hope many will find their homes during spring time 🐕

Cold weather and freezing temperatures have arrived in this part of the country.❄️
We have prepared straws for the dog paddocks but cats and our most vulnerable souls, puppies and kittens and adult dogs that are in treatment, they all need to remain indoors with warm temperatures.

This brings us huge extra costs, around 2500€/month or even more during these coldest months. Where the costs come from? They come from firewood and charcoal costs that we need for heating.

❄1 pallet of firewood costs around 120€, depending on the weather 2-3 pallets are needed for heating per week during this and next month still.
❄1 pallet of charcoal costs around 470€, depending on the weather 3-3,25 pallets are needed for heating per month during winter months.

Jess is around 1,5 years old girl who is looking for a home.

Jess came to the shelter at the beginning of 2024 when she was still quite young. Cute pink nosed Jess appears friendly and social with other cats. She is playful and active as a cat should be in her age, therefore we recommend and wish that she would have a feline friend in her new home who is similarly active. 🐈🐈‍⬛

Jess is not a cat that likes to stand in the spotlight of human attention, but she is not afraid of people either. When given attention, she enjoys being petted and warms up quite quickly. She is not yet used to be picked up in arms yet and doesn't appreciate it, she might need some positive enforcement to train that. Friendly Jess is beautiful with her light blue and gray eyes, maybe someone will notice her 🩵

When the year changes, it's good to look and review what we have achieved in 2024.

In adoption activities, the year was progressive, to our delight, the year brought unprecedented growth in local adoptions. We got committed volunteers to help organize adoption events and to help especially with cat adoptions. Also, local people's interest in offering a home to homeless kittens and puppies has increased, and it warms our hearts. Many very lucky animals found their own homes this year in Romania and aboard. ❤️ Total 146 dogs and 186 cats were adopted with the help of our local volunteers and long-term cooperation partners and some private inviduals.

And incredible, total 140 cats were adopted in Romania. 🤩

The most important thing we as an association can do is to reduce the number of homeless animals in the area by sterilizations. We continued to help local pet owners by spaying and neutering dogs and cats to prevent new puppies and kittens from being born in nearby villages. We kept the spay and neuter days weekly, usually a few days per week. During 2024 we spayed and neutered a total 685 dogs and 1445 cats. 🤩 The numbers are massive and we hope they will be reflected in the decrease in the number of abandoned animals in area. Spay and neuter days were sponsored with the donations funds:

For next year we wish to have as many animals neutered and as few animals abandoned as possible. We will continue the neutering program with similar or bigger volume thanks to our sponsors. We continue to try our best with the local cat adoption program and we hope to also increase the number of dogs adopted locally. ❤️ We look forward to work with our dear cooperation partners in upcoming year as well and to keep all of our supporters up to date of our work at the shelter.

We received 16 850 kg of pet food yesterday 😍 Thank you everyone who helped us and voted @_hearts4paws_e.v._ on last year's competition to win truck full of food. Saturday's Namaste Puppy Yoga event went nicely, puppies really enjoyed their time with all the people. This week we received 3 new puppies, they were abandoned to our shelter's gate in cardboard box. All puppies were full of fleas and dirt We took them in to our care. All 3 are girls, they are few months old. They are friendly, playful, social, and very very cute 🐶 They will be medium size as adults. Past few weeks have been very hectic and we are sorry for not posting as much as usual. We have received many new puppies and kittens, and we had to refuse even more as the shelter premises are full. Team Hobos and Hearts4Paws have visited us in past days and thousands of pictures and hundred videos were taken of dogs and cats, and it's not long time ago when team Embla visited us well. We hope that many dogs and cats will find homes in near future by the efforts of these amazing teams and ofcourse our local volunteers ❤️ Together we make difference 🤗

Some of our cats, same way as our dogs, are always there together with us to participate to daily errands. While the carers do their daily work, cleaning the areas, feeding everyone, changing waters, giving treatments to those who need it, they can check and keep on eye on animals health when they meet them during the day. #shelterlife #sheltercats

Unfortunately, we have 3 new little puppies, all girls. They were found from the field where the yard part ends. Again and again, we ask and wonder, who can leave and abandon animals like this? How they sleep at night? How they can turn their backs when they hear their cries in tall grass and bushes 😞 They are all really friendly and brave, clearly used to be with people. We picked them up and we will try to help them. It's not easy, we need help. We need help for their vaccinations, food, care, keeping them warm, we need help so they would have future and their luck would turn.
