Today, 26 July 2026, we celebrate the 54th anniversary of the inauguration of Grandfather Ralão’s Riding School in Lumiar — a very special place in our family’s equestrian history.
In 1972, Miguel was only six years old. It was there that his passion for horses first began and where the foundations of his lifelong equestrian journey were laid.
Curiously, Miguel started competing in show jumping. However, it was not long before he returned to dressage — the discipline that became his true passion and shaped his entire professional life.
Since then, he has built an extensive career, training many horses from their early years through to Grand Prix level, and guiding numerous riders and students, both in Portugal and abroad.
More than five decades later, that legacy remains alive through the horses, the riders, the knowledge passed on and the same passion that first began in Lumiar.
A meaningful date to celebrate and remember where it all started. 🐴
