A World Cruiser suited for a cruising family or couple looking for long distance bluewater sailing.

Upgraded for world cruising with Hydranet Radial heavy duty sails set up for shorthanded or solo sailing from the security of the cockpit. A Solent sail on a tortion cable was added to allow more sail configurations making it a cutter rig when necessary.
This yacht has three spacious cabins with ample storage, two heads and separate laundry room with built-in washing machine. Upgraded galley to all electric cooking powered by a LiFePo4 battery system, plenty of refrigeration capacity and a generous saloon and cockpit that will ensure extreme comfort both under sail and at anchor both in summer and winter.

6 days and 16 hours - 866 nautical miles

And that wraps up our second Atlantic crossing (done in 2 legs)

Day 5 2024-06-13/14

After a hard day of gybing the sails often, trying to stay on course, cursing the wrong forecasts, we were exhausted, physically and mentally. This much shorter trip is tacking a lot more from us than the previous 18 day passage. Surely the grey damp days aren’t helping the mood.

Only well into the night the wind aligned with the forecast coming from Northwest (120 degree apparent wind) with nice speeds and then all of a sudden a 22 knot gust out of nowhere and the wind changed to North and we were now flying with untrimmed sails on 70-60 degrees of apparent wind and a wicked swell. Luckily we had already put a reef on the mainsail thinking that a night manoeuvre wouldn’t be fun. So we rushed to reef the Jib and slow us down to some more reasonable speeds for two tired sailors in the darkness.

This was it, we had finally reached the wind, conditions should remain the same or get friskier until we reached our destination. Chances were it was going to get friskier so mid afternoon we proceeded on putting a second reef on the mainsail.
Turned the boat downwind, once again, and took our time reefing the mainsail in comfort and safety. With the task done, we just simply adjusted our course back to where we were before with the wind between 80-90 apparent.

Oh and the sun finally shined on us.

Day 4 - 2024-06-12/13

We hit the half way marker. Mixed feelings.
Hurray and oh jeez still so much to go.

ARE WE THERE YET? Three days and a couple of hours according to technology and if we keep the current pace.

Surrounded by grey for days without end is not helping the mood, somehow it’s making us feel this leg of our journey is more difficult.

Wing on wing.
At least that. Lazy sailing that hopefully will stay like this until the very end.

Not much to report on the second day, quite boring actually if we had not had the visit of these little fellows!

Day 1 - 2024-06-09/10

By the close of the 24h run of the first day we had achieved our goal of reaching latitude 40, it was now time to stop heading northeast and to start heading much more eastwards.
Some slow 116 nautical miles in light winds.

Day 1 - 2024-06-09

And it began, the second leg of our Atlantic crossing at 7.30 pm.
A strange feeling because we so rarely start sails this late in the day. When we leave during the day we loose sight of our departure reasonably fast but when we leave at night the lights and its glow are visible for many hours.

12h into our journey and we have already made 62 nautical miles, not an exciting average but the one possible with the winds we had all night.
