We are extremely proud that the ECOFUNC project is officially kicking off in Helsinki, Finland! 🇫🇮

United by a shared vision, 17 top-notch European research and industry partners led by VTT are committed to work together on creating novel, ecofriendly and circular building materials made 100% in EU.

By advancing the use of carbon-negative polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), we will collectively develop recyclable, naturally produced and fully biodegradable PHA-based panels applied to hasztag and further re-purposed for hasztag and hasztag sectors.

With real-world demonstrations, cross-industry collaborations and intensive stakeholder engagement, the project will establish the very first EU-based circular value chains for innovative applications of sustainable materials.

ECOFUNC is supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and its members.

𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗢𝗦 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝘇𝗲𝘀𝘇ó𝘄’𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀!

Last week, Unimos had a dynamic presence in Rzeszów, with our team— Bialik and Tomek Bober—participating in two cornerstone events: Clusters Meet Regions (June 3–4) and EU Industry Days (June 5–6).

𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Hosted by the Podkarpackie Region and European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) on behalf of the European Commission, this event gathered 100+ cluster organisations, policymakers, SMEs, startups, research institutions, and regional agencies.
Key themes included the role of clusters in regional smart specialisation, cross-border cooperation, innovation ecosystems, green and digital transitions—and even dual-use/security technologies and drone innovation.

Highlights included insightful panel discussions and pitching sessions where startups showcased cutting‑edge solutions—providing rich networking and collaboration opportunities.

𝐄𝐔 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓
Held under the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union , this flagship industry forum focused on:
Boosting competitiveness and clean tech markets.
Scaling innovative industries, talent upskilling, and critical tech.
Enhancing security, supply chain resilience, and EU industrial autonomy—including support for Ukraine’s recovery.

The programme included over 30 exhibition stands, a matchmaking corner for SMEs/startups, thematic parallel sessions, and direct access to EU experts.

What we gained:
- Attended thought-provoking panels on industrial policy, green transition, dual-use tech, and innovation ecosystems
- Connected with regional clusters, policymakers, SMEs, startups, innovation hubs, and investors
- Established valuable contacts for future collaborations and EU project opportunities
- Strengthened UNIMOS’s visibility in both the Podkarpackie innovation landscape and the broader European industrial ecosystem

We look forward to continuing the conversations sparked in Rzeszów—and to bringing new joint initiatives and insights into our work across the region and beyond.

„Clusters Meet Regions” tym razem w Rzeszowie.

W wydarzeniu uczestniczyła Anna Bialik Wiceprezes UNIMOS i Tomek Bober oraz inni przedstawiciele kluczowych instytucji regionalnych i branżowych, w tym liderzy klastrów, reprezentanci samorządów, a także eksperci ds. innowacji i rozwoju gospodarczego. Ich obecność podkreśliła znaczenie współpracy międzysektorowej oraz zaangażowania lokalnych liderów w rozwój regionalnych ekosystemów innowacji.

Podczas wydarzenia oficjalnie Marszałek Województwa ogłosił Podkarpacie Doliną Dronową. Gratulujemy pomysłodawcom i współtwórcom tej inicjatywy Aneta Łobodzińska i Grzegorz Łobodziński Dron Space Valley !

„Clusters Meet Regions” to inicjatywa organizowana przez European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) na zlecenie Komisji Europejskiej. Jej celem jest wspieranie współpracy między klastrami a władzami regionalnymi, przedsiębiorstwami, instytucjami badawczymi i innymi interesariuszami w celu wzmocnienia regionalnych ekosystemów innowacji i konkurencyjności gospodarczej.

🇪🇺 This week, Unimos took part in the final conference of the SCALE-UP project, held within the framework of the in . The event brought together six Horizon Europe projects—SCALE-UP, MainstreamBIO, BioRural, RuralBioUp, ROBIN, and Biomodel4Regions—for a joint dialogue on achievements, policy alignment, and the future of the rural bioeconomy in .

Representing UNIMOS were Anna Bialik, Vice-President and Co-Founder, and Julia Kosikowska, who joined fellow consortium members and stakeholders in valuable in-person discussions. These exchanges offered an opportunity to reflect on shared learnings, reinforce collaboration, and look ahead to what comes next.

🌿 The SCALE-UP project aims to accelerate the adoption of circular bioeconomy solutions across rural regions by supporting high-potential value chains, regional innovation ecosystems, and scalable business models. It continues to deliver impactful outcomes as it approaches its final phase.

We are proud to be part of this transformative initiative. As the project nears its conclusion, we are excited to carry forward its legacy through the creation of the SCALE-UP Bioeconomy Metacluster. This collaborative platform will sustain and expand the project's vision well into the future. More information to come.

On April 25th, Anna Bialik , Vice President of the Unimos, participated in the hybrid debate “Recipe for Food Waste Reduction,” organised by the Parliament Office in Poland. The event opened with a welcome and an introduction to the .eu project by Witold Naturski, Director of the European Parliament Office in Poland, and Professor Joanna Wyleżałek, Director of the Institute of Sociological and Pedagogical Sciences at SGGW.

Bartlomiej Rak from and Agnieszka Maj from SGGW / Warsaw University of Life Sciences participated in the discussion. Aleksandra Hebda from the European Parliament Office in Poland moderated the debate.

❗️Each year, the average household in the EU discards over 130 kilograms of food—an alarming figure that requires immediate attention. During the discussion, experts and scientists explored the underlying causes of this issue, its severe social and environmental repercussions, and how everyone can contribute to meaningful change. ❗️

Anna Bialik presented the Rosetta Project EU, a research and innovation initiative backed by the European Union. The project aims to develop actionable solutions to curb food waste at all stages, from farm to table. integrates scientific research, technological advancements, and community involvement to promote a more sustainable and responsible food system.

The discussion was inspiring and included new insights, actionable ideas, and a collective sense of duty. We take pride in participating in this crucial dialogue!

We are pleased to provide further details regarding the recent final conference of the UNLOCK project held in San Sebastian, which was attended by our Presidents, Katarzyna Kowalska and Anna Bialik. 🌍

During the conference, Ms. Kowalska delivered a comprehensive presentation entitled “BEYOND UNLOCK.” In her presentation, she addressed several significant themes:
1. Support the uptake of UNLOCK solutions
2. Clustering for partnerships and interconnections
3. Identify and seize funding opportunities
4. Excellence, skills and competence building
5. Exploring, experimenting and co-creating
