A 17-year-old elephant named Noor Jehan, who lived in Karachi zoo, passed away on Saturday following a three-month-long illness caused by the zoo administration's negligence. The Karachi Administrator, Saifur Rehman, confirmed the news and mentioned that they had taken every possible measure to save the elephant's life, including seeking help from international veterinary doctors.

Unfortunately, Noor Jehan's condition worsened after she fell into a pond inside her enclosure earlier this month. The zoo management used a crane, ropes, and belts to rescue her from the water. For the past three months, Noor Jehan had been suffering from severe physical trauma and was under intensive care. Her muscle mass had decreased, her spine appeared distorted, and her legs appeared bent.

During a brief visit to Karachi, the international animal welfare organization Four Paws treated the elephant and discovered that she had sustained an injury in recent months, causing internal bleeding and a hematoma in her abdomen.
