A heartbreaking controversy has surfaced in Islamabad after ProPakistani reported that Assistant Commissioner Yasir Nazir allegedly ordered the sealing of Strays Home Animal Rescue, leaving hundreds of rescued animals without proper care.
According to the report, many of these animals were sick, disabled, or injured, and their sudden abandonment raised serious concerns about their survival. Shelter staff and veterinarians were even arrested during the operation, though they were later granted bail and the facility was de sealed. The NGO had been operating with an official NOC since 2024, yet is now being pressured to vacate within seven days.
Animal lovers and rights activists are expressing outrage, calling for immediate action to ensure the well being of the animals. Critics argue that such steps reflect a lack of compassion for vulnerable lives that depend entirely on human care.
