Welp. We did it again. A few months ago, we moved to another rental property. Our family and friends tease us about being "serial movers"—and we can't blame them!

After we left our farm sanctuary, our operations became a bit unstable. No more monthly newsletters, no more fundraisers, no more visitations, and fewer social media updates. But one thing has not changed: we have never stopped providing our residents with the comfortable "retirement" we promised them.

Every time we move, we try to upgrade their living conditions by finding a house with a bigger yard, more secure gates and fences, and better-organized spaces. With every single move, our topmost priority remains their comfort and safety.

Life is hard, but we are blessed in so many ways. Our hoomans work overtime to ensure the animals' basic needs are covered. We have the best landlords, decent jobs, and supporters who keep donating—even when we don't ask. We have access to amazing vet care and participate in humane education efforts whenever we can. We truly consider ourselves fortunate.

To those who want to keep supporting our work, here is how you can help:

Habagat was one of the least adoptable dogs at the PAWS shelter. He was older and had behavioral issues. Even though he wasn't a good fit for many adopters who were looking for a healthy, sociable companion, we thought he was perfect. He was the perfect dog to be given a second chance.

Habagat took that chance and made the most of it. As an older gentleman, he learned to coexist with younger members of the pack. He stopped being overprotective of his food. He learned that the hand that feeds is the same hand that dispenses unlimited ear scritches.

In his last few months, he battled tumors, kidney disease, and all the aches and pains associated with old age. He accepted all the love we had to offer, including belly rubs, nose boops, and cuddles—the ultimate reward from a dog with trust issues.

We know that taking care of dogs like Habagat is not for everyone. But we also know that they need more advocates. There are too many like him who are deemed "problematic" through no fault of their own, and very few people willing to accept and love them as they are.

Our planned year-end update has turned into a start-of-year check in—but better late than never...

We wanted to start 2026 with a bang. The plan was: Take home a handful of senior retirees from the shelter, actively promote some educational campaigns, put up some new social media posts, update the website... None of which has happened because the universe had other plans.

This is what actually happened in the last 30 days:

🐾 We lost 2 senior dogs to illnesses associated with old age, just within 3 weeks of each other.
🐾 We had 2 residents in special care due to surgeries (mass removal and spay - both recovered).
🐾 We have 4 new kittens, left in a box outside our gate, that we are now fostering. 𝗣𝗦𝗔: People who do this either think they are doing the right thing, or know that it's wrong but don't care. Whoever you are, you put the kittens AND our other vulnerable animals at risk by your selfish act.

𝗜𝗻 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀: Meet our new foster kittens, Vindaloo, Masala, Chutney and Poppadom. They are currently quarantined in a larger and more comfortable crate, and are scheduled for their second dose of deworming 🐱 And Paupau, a blind doggo from PAWS with kidney disease. He enjoyed the company of his new favorite hooman for a very short 2 weeks, before he decided to let go of the pain. RIP. You are loved 🖤

We wish to thank donors who remembered us and shared Christmas blessings, without us asking. They helped us provide the best vet care for our residents during a financially and emotionally challenging time.

This is how we wish to remember Parker. Unbothered, fat, lazy, and always photo-ready 🖤🐱

From the busy parking lot of Eton Centris in Quezon City, he came to us before BFFS was conceived. His days chasing birds and darting under parked cars were abruptly ended when he was hit by a car and left with a paralyzed hind area.

Adopting a cat who is unable to use a litter box is intimidating to many, and we wanted to change that. We learned to express his bladder and stimulate his bowels. 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes before bedtime was all it took to keep him clean and comfortable.

After being a loner for almost 2 years, we got him a little sister, a kitten who suffered the same fate. Still unbothered, he let little Vivi share his bed, showing her that life as a special needs cat wasn't so bad when you get to enjoy nice beds, toys, treats, and head scritches. They became inseparable.

Parker's health deteriorated over many months. While enduring several vet visits and bitter meds, he continued to be Vivi's strong and patient "kuya" until the very end.

Basil waiting for his chewable supplements is too cute🥹 He has two hooman BFFs who continue to support him monthly. With their help, Basil has a steady supply of medicated shampoo and priobiotics. We are thankful❤️

Thank you to everyone who shared and engaged with our recent post looking for a helper. Thank you also to those who took the time to attend the video interview. We've found one part-timer who has been a HUGE help. We are still looking for another helper, part or full time, to assist with other duties.

Please don't be offended if we don't respond to comments. We prioritize applicants who show a genuine interest by messaging us proactively. Plus, animal care takes up most of our time. The hooman barely has time to shower (TMI?) 😶‍🌫️

Our feline residents are happy that their cattery is looking (and smelling) nicer. Again, thank you, and wish us luck! ❤️

At first glance, Rei looked like an ordinary rabbit, hopping and binkying about in his enclosure with no care in the world. But this precious bunny had to "endure" special care to keep him healthy and happy. Regular butt cleaning and trimming were part of his regimen. And as any bun parent would know, that is no easy task.

We were lucky that he was such a good boy. He would sit patiently as his hooman held him steady for a good 15 minutes to make sure that his butt stayed clean and dry. Without this weekly routine, he would have urine scalding due to his semi-splayed legs which kept him from peeing in the correct position.

He was also a good boy when he traveled with us, whether it was for a quick vet check, an overnight stay at an Airbnb, or an activity-filled visit at a pre-school for an educational talk on rabbit care—he was the perfect furry companion.

We'd like to ask for a favor... We are in need of a helper, and finding someone with a genuine love for animals is not easy.

The doggos are used to being spoiled. Their hooman (yours truly) juggles work, household chores and animal care. The hooman needs help so that we can keep giving them the high standard of care that we promised.

In addition to salary and accommodation, we provide food allowance for stay-in help (loc: Angeles City, Pampanga) but we are also open to a stay-out arrangement. Other details will be discussed with anyone who inquires.

It's so easy to take sunny days for granted. In fact, it's easy to take many things for granted. Like having a roof over our heads.

But not Ligaya. Ligaya is always thankful. 🙏❤️

No one knew Pedro, but we want him to be remembered.

Before we left our previous rental house, he came to us skin and bones, limping and starving. As we laid down some food for him, the first thing he did was rub up against the hooman's leg in gratitude. And then he wolfed down what seemed like his first good meal in days.

He came to us just as we were packing up to move to our new house. We'd like to think that he knew what was going on, and he wanted to come along.

We took him to the vet and found out he was FIV-positive. For 5 months, we tried to give him his health back. Today is supposed to be his follow-up after being confined at Petwell Animal Clinic - Magalang 2 weeks ago. He fought hard, but he had been unwell for too long and he was ready to rest.

We're comforted knowing that his last days were spent in a comfortable home. He had the unique privilege of being a spoiled solo cat in a multi-cat household, as we closed off our living area entirely for him. Every day, we gave him 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners, always mixed with extra servings of wet food. He loved sleeping in his cat bed, on the coffee table, the kitchen counter, the microwave, the shoe rack, the hooman's lap — all the years of sleeping underneath cars completely forgotten.

If you are considering getting a pet, please consider adopting an FIV-positive cat from your local animal shelter. RIP Pedro 🖤
