A. Low Carbon Steels (1060/1050/1045...): Common low carbon steel is a kind of "soft material", Hardness and flexibility are both low comparing with other materials. A blade made from this material is suitable for decorated, tatami mats cutting practice, and it is good to be used as a practice sword for beginner of Dojo. It can't be used to cut bamboos, wood, and other hard things because of the strength, or you will bend it. Folded Steels (Damascus): Folded steel actually is made by forging the low carbon steel many times. 11-13 times fold will make the blade contains 4000-16000 layers. This folded forge will get rid of the impurity of the low carbon steel and make the blade looks charming with fine wavy lines. So this kind of blade is also called Damascus steel. This is a middle class strength blade, suitable for mats cutting, bamboo cutting, but not suitable to cut very hard thing such as bone, iron wire and so on. High Carbon Steels (1095/T10): High carbon steel is also called tool steel in some countries, this is a strong material. A blade made from this material is not only for practice but also cutting. This is a real functional sword and it can cut bamboo, bone, iron wire and so on if the cutting edge are designed into right style. D. Combined Materials (Monosteel/ Multi-steel): This is high class productions and the technology of combining different material is the core of ancient making process. This kind of swords are not only a "sword", they are a kind of "collection" as well. They are the combination of art and craftsmanship. E. Spring Steels (5160, 9260,..): is generally classified as a low alloy, medium carbon steel or high carbon steel with a very high yield strength. This allows the shaped material to return to their original shape despite significant bending or twisting. HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER:

Wakizashi by Sukemune Shimada
Certificate: Tokubetsu Hozon NBTHK - Mid-Muromachi Period - Estimated age: 500 years old . Shimada School A traditional swordsmith school that was under the authority of many powerful figures during the mid-Muromachi era. The school was renowned for creating Suguha hamon. Importantly, this particular blade has a special characteristic, combining unique elements to produce a rare and special Suguha Hitatsura hamon pattern. It's extremely rare to find such a piece among the works of this master. . Sunshu Shimada Sukemune (Shimada Swordsmith School) was passed down for about four generations from Bun'an (around 1444) to Tensho (around 1573). Sukemune's works are characterized by the distinctive Shimada style. Ancestors of Shimada Sukemune came from Bizen Province, and it is believed that he came from a different lineage than Yoshisuke Shimada. This Sukemune may have been a blacksmith from Bizen. The Shimada Swordsmith School in Suruga Province was founded by Yoshisuke during the mid-Muromachi era, and Sukemune was the first generation. It is said that he was Yoshisuke's younger brother, and the school flourished for many generations until the Shinto era. There seem to have been several swordsmiths who called themselves Sukemune around the same time, as their works were highly reputed and in great demand. Therefore, it is very difficult to acquire a sword from such a master like Sukemune. Besides the straight hamon, his styles also include Sue-Soshu, Muramasa, and Mino styles. He was also skilled in engraving.
During the Muromachi period, Suruga Province was home to many powerful groups, such as the Takeda, Imagawa, Hojo, and Tokugawa clans. Sukemune was particularly renowned for crafting short swords for the daimyo Takeda Shingen, the leader of the Takeda clan. Shingen was an important daimyo during the Sengoku period, recognized as one of the greatest and most courageous daimyo, earning the nickname "Tiger of Kai." He is also known as the creator of the famous Otegine, a legendary and powerful spear known as one of the three best spears in the world. Some records suggest that Sukemune's sword-making lineage was also commissioned to forge important swords for the Tokugawa clan, making him one of the most famous and successful swordsmiths of his time.

A sword preserved in the ancient Japanese temple Koryuji (興龍寺) by the head monk. This is a very rare opportunity, and the sword is one of the most beautiful ones. It comes with a Koshirae fitting of a golden dragon among the clouds. With an age of over 494 years, it awaits a worthy owner to possess its grandeur.
- Comes with NBTHK certification
Osafune Kunimitsu, preserved by the head monk of Koryuji Temple (興龍寺) in Nagano Prefecture, is an extremely rare sword, even in Japan. This special piece has been delivered to Samurai Gallery Thailand
A legend of nearly 500 years, carefully crafted and preserved. This sword was specially made by a renowned samurai during the late Muromachi period (Kyoroku 1530), with unique forging instructions similar to the Nanbokucho era. It was created to be used in warfare, with beauty, efficiency, and perfect harmony
The unique hamon pattern, with its simplicity and tranquility, evokes strong emotions (more details)
The swordsmith of this blade is recorded as Bizen no Kuni Osafune Kunimitsu, a famous swordsmith in the late Muromachi period. Several smiths used the alias Kiyomitsu during that time, such as Gorosaemon-no-jo, Magoemon-no-jo, Hikobei-no-jo, and Magobei-no-jo, all renowned smiths. This sword was specially made with unique features upon the request of a famous samurai of that time, incorporating significant details in the Kiyomitsu sword style. The Koshirae and sword's design are vital proofs of its unique creation, possibly during a transitional period between eras. Only a few swords were made on the auspicious day of the 3rd year of Kyoroku, August 1530, and have been preserved by the head monk from the past to the present. The sword is certified by the Nagano Prefecture Educational Committee on June 21, 2007, at Koryuji Temple (興龍寺) in Nagano. It has a prominent and beautiful sugata, with sori and kissaki that are exquisite, and all details are recorded and certified by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kai.
• This sword has been preserved at Koryuji Temple (興龍寺), an important and ancient temple in Nagano Prefecture, founded in 1590 (Azuchi-Momoyama period). It is the only Zazen temple with a hall in Matsumoto Daira, featuring the rare Nagayamon gate and a stupa with Buddha's footprints. The temple's 13-story pagoda dedicated to Mizuko and over 20 monuments with poems reflect its historical and spiritual significance. The sword's sacredness and the temple's ancient power ensure prosperity and protection for its owner.
