An adult female Shih Tzu was presented to our clinic with a noticeable mass arising from the lower gum near the canine-incisor region. Oral masses can interfere with eating, cause discomfort, bleeding, bad breath, and may continue to enlarge if left untreated.
After a thorough examination and pre-surgical assessment, the patient underwent surgical excision of the gingival mass. The procedure was successfully performed, and the mass was completely removed to help restore oral comfort and function.
Early detection and prompt veterinary attention are important when any abnormal growth is noticed in your pet's mouth. Not all oral masses are cancerous, but proper diagnosis and treatment are essential to ensure the best outcome.
๐ค We are happy to report that our patient recovered well from the procedure and is now on the road to a healthier, more comfortable life.
๐ If you notice swelling, growths, bleeding, bad breath, or difficulty eating in your pet, schedule a veterinary consultation as soon as possible.
