All dogs benefit from calm leadership — especially the nervous ones.

Leadership has little to do with the words you say, but has everything to do with the energy you carry.

Animals do NOT follow instability. Humans are the only species that follow unstable leaders. Aminin! 🙊

If you want a dog to trust you, be instinctual.

Some of the most natural dog behaviors are often seen as inappropriate, unnecessary, or even unwanted in a typical human setting — behaviors like chasing, barking, or claiming things.

That's why teaching a dog to control their impulses is key to them living harmoniously in an environment that is often designed around humans.

This is something BDWC helps my clients with on a daily basis. Send a DM if you need help with your dog!

Most dog owners are accidentally training their dog to pull. Remember, a dog has no intention to misbehave — they are simply doing what feels best or what they know works.

If your walk feels like a struggle, I can help you fix it! Send a DM for more info on 1-on-1 training.

Different energy, different outcome. Calm leadership results in well-behaved dogs. Dealing with the real world builds confidence.

Day 2 update from Pablo, whose owner is dealing with severe reactivity when out on walks with him. Happy to report that Pablo, like most dogs, responds very well to a clear sense of direction and protection.

If we want to gain a dog's trust and respect, then we must be willing to embrace the leadership position.

Pablo was dropped off yday and his owner asked for advice regarding his reactivity toward other dogs. The most they've done is to observe dogs from a far but never close the distance.

Here's my behavioral assessment of Pablo so we can all learn more about the importance of our role in the setting our dogs up for success in the real world.

It's a communication gap, Ms. Ayla. Not a training issue. 🥰🐶
