Sharing some bts shots from when Benson went on assignment for Philippine Airline's Mabuhay magazine.

It was such a special experience. Never did I bond with my dog more than those few days back in May.

Sure, it was over before we knew it, but it's one we'll remember forever.

Up early on this rainy Monday morning for Ollie, a 4-yo Dachshund. Her owners needed help with managing her reactivity when seeing other animals outside.

From my assessment, it was clear that Ollie was a strong-willed dog who was looking for a job. She's pushy and knows how to get what she wants—which was also the source of her unwanted behaviors.

We first started at their apartment teaching the concept of following on the leash and communicating clearly through it, before we moved outside where we encountered a bunch of her usual triggers.

It was so important for me to see her owners take the lead and be the ones to lay the rules of the game so Ollie learns to follow their direction, instead of taking over in the moment.

Now the job of consistency and patience begins. Each day is a chance to be just a little bit better than yesterday.

Saturday session with Chico, a 6 yo Beagle-Corgi mix. His owner Alexa and Patrick (both school teachers, btw!) wanted some guidance on teaching their dog good leash manners.

Alexa also worked on her hesitation when encountering stray dogs while walking. How she feels determines how her dog experiences the moment, so it was really important that she carried the right energy to give good direction and protection for Chico.

Last but not the least for the day is Gabbie, a 3 yo GR. Gabbie's owner has been dealing with reactivity, jumping, mouthing, and a lot of unwanted behaviors.

When we unpacked everything, we saw that it was a combination of a lot of factors and not just one particular issue.

Lifestyle, routines, learned behaviors, outlets for energy all contribute to a dog's overall behavior and well-being.

I really wanted to see if his reactivity lived up to the lore so I brought out Bella, a well-balanced adult female. What we saw instead was a dog who simply had a ton of unspent energy daily and who didn't have clear rules and boundaries.

It was so important that Gabbie's owner saw that.

Beneath all of the dog's frustration, the formula remains undefeated: exercise, discipline, affection.

Harmony and balance is closer than you know. The great thing about tomorrow is that we can do it all over again.

Nakakatuwa yung pagiging intentional ng session namin. Ganda din makita na patuloy na nag dedevelop yung relationship nilang dalawa.

Yun talaga yung point eh. I'm glad I was reminded of that today.

This is what a community of responsible dog owners sound like. The ones who understand what terms like communication, socialization, and relationship truly for a dog.

Walang stage, energetic na host, blaring music, at kung ano-anong pa constest—dogs couldn't care less about those things.

If you want to see who your dog for who they truly are, you must place them in environments and activities that are most natural to them.

It is when we expect a dog to fulfill our emotional needs first as humans before we fulfill their needs as dogs that most problems develop.

Treating a dog like a dog is the most honorable thing you can do.
