๐ŸŒโš ๏ธ Endangered Species Day

Today, we are reminded that many of the animals we share this planet with are facing increasing threats to their survival. From whales and dolphins to sharks, seabirds, and sea turtles, human activities continue to impact wildlife and the habitats they depend on.

But conservation efforts can and do make a difference. One encouraging example is the green sea turtle, which is now globally listed as โ€œLeast Concernโ€, showing how protection, research, and long-term conservation action can help species recover. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿข

Still, many species remain threatened by habitat loss, pollution, climate change, unsustainable fishing practices, and wildlife disturbance. Protecting wildlife means continuing the work to conserve habitats, support science-based conservation, and create a future where both people and nature can thrive together.

At BALYENA.ORG, our work in research, conservation, education, and stranding response is rooted in one goal: helping protect marine wildlife and the ecosystems that sustain them. Every sighting recorded, every community reached, and every conversation started contributes to a future where these species can continue to thrive.

Endangered Species Day is not only about awareness, itโ€™s also a reminder that conservation requires action. Protecting wildlife means protecting habitats, supporting science-based conservation, and making choices that reduce harm to the natural world.

Because every species matters. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ

These are not just labels. They are warnings. Every status on that list tells a story of a species fighting to survive in a world that is changing faster than they can adapt.

Many of these species share the same forests, the same ancestral lands of the Obu Manuvu of Tambobong, that the Philippine Eagle calls home. As the umbrella species of conservation, protecting the Philippine Eagle means protecting every living thing that thrives beneath the forest canopy it guards. ๐Ÿฆ…

Support our conservation efforts and help protect not just the Philippine Eagle โ€” but the entire ecosystem it shelters. Every donation counts.
