🌍⚠️ Endangered Species Day

Today, we are reminded that many of the animals we share this planet with are facing increasing threats to their survival. From whales and dolphins to sharks, seabirds, and sea turtles, human activities continue to impact wildlife and the habitats they depend on.

But conservation efforts can and do make a difference. One encouraging example is the green sea turtle, which is now globally listed as “Least Concern”, showing how protection, research, and long-term conservation action can help species recover. 💚🐢

Still, many species remain threatened by habitat loss, pollution, climate change, unsustainable fishing practices, and wildlife disturbance. Protecting wildlife means continuing the work to conserve habitats, support science-based conservation, and create a future where both people and nature can thrive together.

At BALYENA.ORG, our work in research, conservation, education, and stranding response is rooted in one goal: helping protect marine wildlife and the ecosystems that sustain them.
