The Pfleider School

The Pfleider School The Pfleider School is where owners and dogs go to learn how to live well together.

It is about possibility: the possibility of life with a dog that is responsive, reciprocal, and deeply lived.

Sometimes the best outings aren’t the elaborate ones. They’re simply good food, an unassuming atmosphere, and the company of people and wonderfully well-mannered dogs who know how to enjoy being together.

The staff at The Dock welcomed us with genuine warmth and thoughtful attention.

Thank you for a lovely evening. 🐾

There’s something special about discovering something together.

Kai met the weave poles for the first time at this session. Her human was also just learning to teach them.

In agility, dog and human figure out how to move, communicate, and find their way through each challenge as a team.

Agility is offered in both group classes and private one-on-one sessions.

If you’d like to learn with your dog, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Every skill your dog learns begins with someone willing to learn alongside him.

That’s what the Courteous Canines Masterclass is about.
Our next group class begins in mid-July.
If you’d like to join us, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

If a group class isn’t the best fit, or if you need greater scheduling flexibility, private one-on-one sessions are also available.

At 10 years old, Swyft has earned her Trick Dog Champion Title through Kyra Sundance’s Do More With Your Dog program.

This title means a great deal to us.

Not because tricks are cute, though they often are.

Not because titles are everything, because they are not.

But because trick training keeps asking the dog and the human to stay engaged with each other.

It builds body awareness, confidence, focus, problem-solving, communication, and joy. It gives dogs a way to use their minds and bodies with purpose. It gives people a way to practice clarity, timing, patience, and delight.

For a senior dog, that matters even more.

Swyft reminds me that learning does not have to end when a dog grows older. It can become gentler, richer, more thoughtful, and more fun.

I am so proud of my girl.

And for those who would like to begin this journey with their own dogs, our Tricks Classes are open for enrollment. Our CTDIs can also evaluate your dogs’ tricks up to the Expert Level.

Tricks are not “extras.”
They are another way to build a life together.
