Before bringing your pet, here are 10 important FAQs:

1. Why spay/neuter?
Prevents unwanted pregnancies, may reduce reproductive health risks, and helps control the growing pet population.
2. How old should my pet be?
Most healthy dogs and cats can be considered once appropriately developed, subject to the veterinarian’s assessment.
3. Does my pet need to be healthy?
Yes. Sick, weak, pregnant, in-heat, elderly, or high-risk pets may need additional evaluation.
4. Is fasting required?
Yes, but instructions vary by age, size, and condition. Please follow the clinic’s instructions, especially for puppies and kittens.
5. Are blood tests required?
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork MAY BE recommended for your pet’s safety.
6. Is the low-cost rate all-inclusive?
Additional medications, e-collar, bloodwork, or special procedures may have separate charges.
7. What if my pet is in heat or pregnant?
Please disclose this beforehand. Additional fees or rescheduling may be required.
8. What about retained testicles (cryptorchid)?
These require a more complicated procedure and may have additional charges.
9. Can my pet go home the same day?
Most routine patients can go home once they have safely recovered from anesthesia.
10. How do I reserve?

Kapon is more than preventing unwanted litters. It is responsible pet ownership in action and one of the ways we can build a community with fewer abandoned and homeless animals. 🐾

🎂🐾 EASY HOMEMADE DOG BIRTHDAY CAKE
Featuring Yo Go Ghurt × Bet Na Vet Veterinary Clinic - Maasin City 💜

Want to make your fur baby’s birthday a little more special? Here’s a simple dog-friendly cake you can make at home—no fancy baking skills required! 🐶🎉

🥣 DOGGY BIRTHDAY CAKE

Ingredients:
• 1 cup oat flour
• 1 egg
• ½ cup mashed ripe banana
• ¼ cup plain, unsweetened Yo Go Ghurt
• 2 tbsp natural peanut butter — xylitol-free
• 2 tbsp water
• ½ tsp baking powder
• Optional: ¼ cup finely grated carrots 🥕

For the frosting:
• ½ cup plain Greek Yo Go Ghurt
• 1 tbsp xylitol-free natural peanut butter

👩🏻‍🍳 HOW TO MAKE IT

1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.
2. Combine banana, egg, yogurt, peanut butter and water.
3. Mix in the oat flour, baking powder and optional carrots.
4. Pour into a lightly greased 5–6 inch cake pan.
5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is cooked through.
6. Allow to cool completely.
7. Mix Greek yogurt and peanut butter, then frost!
8. Decorate with a few blueberries, strawberries, banana slices or your dog’s favorite treats. 🫐🍓

💜 Vet reminder: Birthday cake is still a treat, not a replacement for a complete and balanced diet. Keep portions small, especially for our little dogs!

🚫 Never use chocolate, cocoa, xylitol/birch sugar, grapes, raisins or macadamia nuts.

From keeping them healthy at Bet Na Vet Veterinary Clinic to making their celebrations extra special with Yo Go Ghurt—because our pets deserve birthdays filled with good food and lots of love. 🐾🎂

Save this recipe for your fur baby’s next birthday! 💜

TIME MATTERS. Sometimes, it changes everything. 🐾💜

Tonight, I’m not just a veterinarian waiting for a patient to wake up.

I’m praying.

She is a 7-year-old, deeply loved dog brought to us with a closed-cervix pyometra—a dangerous infection where pus accumulates inside the uterus with little or no discharge to warn the family how serious things have become.

Her hematocrit was only 18%.

We spent almost 24 hours trying to stabilize her, but despite fluids, medications, monitoring, and supportive care, she remained a very high-risk patient. Eventually, we reached that difficult point veterinarians know too well: waiting longer also carried a risk.

So we operated.

Surgery is finished. Now we wait, monitor, support her body—and hope.

These are the moments when being a veterinarian feels especially heavy. You carry the responsibility of the patient on your table, but you also carry the hopes of the family waiting for their beloved pet to come home.

And this is why I will keep saying:

Please don’t wait until your pet is critically ill before bringing them to the vet.

Animals are incredibly good at hiding pain and illness. With conditions like pyometra, what looks like “she’s just weak,” “she isn’t eating,” or “let’s observe her until tomorrow” can become a life-threatening emergency.

In veterinary medicine, time is part of the treatment.

Earlier consultation can mean more time to diagnose.
More time to stabilize.
More treatment options.
And sometimes, a much better chance of coming home.

Tonight, our team at Bet Na Vet Veterinary Clinic will continue watching over her.

And me?

I’ll be praying that this brave girl gets another morning with the family who loves her so much. 🙏🐾

If your pet suddenly stops eating, becomes unusually weak, vomits, develops a swollen abdomen, drinks or urinates excessively, or simply isn’t acting like herself—please don’t wait.

Have them checked. Time matters.

The workaholic gene is definitely inherited. 😂💜

Taking this opportunity to appreciate a rare sight—Papa visiting me at the clinic! 🥹

I think I got my workaholic side from both of my parents. The funny thing is, Papa can barely leave his own workplace too—the farm. 😂 So having him here at Bet Na Vet Veterinary Clinic deserves documentation!

While I spend my days caring for animals in the clinic, my parents pour the same dedication into running La Caridad Farm and Foods in Brgy. Buac Gamay, Sogod, Southern Leyte.

Different workplaces, same family habit: work hard, take care of what you’ve built, and somehow find time to check on each other. 💜

Maybe entrepreneurship really does run in the family. 😉

Thank you for visiting my little world, Pa. Now balik na sa farm before you start worrying about what’s happening there. 😂🌱🐾
