LBES of Valenzuela City – 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗚ULAYAN 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 NCR!
Lawang Bato Elementary School made history at the NCR Regional Stakeholders' Conference and Awarding Ceremony, held on October 24, 2025, at The Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City, by sweeping multiple top honors for its outstanding implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) and Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP).
Gulayan sa Paaralan is a national school-based gardening program in our country that encourages all schools, along with partner communities, to grow vegetables on school grounds to promote food security, good nutrition, and environmental sustainability.
LBES achievement would not be possible without these people:
• The City Government of Valenzuela, under the leadership of Mayor WES T. Gatchalian, for
championing education and community-driven initiatives that uplift every learner.
• DepEd NCR – Asst. Undersecretary Joselyn DR Andaya, for her visionary leadership and
steadfast encouragement of grassroots excellence.
• DepEd Valenzuela – Mr. Noel Bagano, Schools Division Superintendent, for his consistent
guidance and belief in the potential of every school to thrive
• Dr. Edna L. Llanera and Dr. Teresita U. Pangan, Central District Public Schools Division
Supervisors, for their mentorship, presence, and unwavering support throughout our
journey.
Brgy. Captain Orestes "Opok" R. Tolentino and the entire Barangay Lawang Bato Council, or their unwavering community leadership
• Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of Lawang Bato Elementary School, whose passion fuels every success.
• LBES stakeholders, community groups, and partner organizations, for standing beside us every step of the way.
• Bureau of Plant Industry, for their technical guidance and advocacy for sustainable school gardening.
• Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – NCR, for generously providing aquaponics materials and sharing vital know-how that deepened our commitment to integrated food sustainability and hands-on learning.
• The ever-supportive SPTA, Parents, and most of all, the learners of LBES, whose growth and joy remain at the heart of everything we do.
