Tribute to all our sugarcane farming families whoโve done a tremendous job of preserving, maintaining and sustaining sugarcane industry.
Tanduay Rhum, now the worldโs No. 1 rum, has been a part of the Negrensesโ way of life, especially for those who drink rum, for many decades until now.
Did you know that Tanduay Rhum is produced, farm to bottle to table, in Negros Occidental?
First, Tanduay Distillers Inc. gets its molasses from Victorias Milling Co. Molasses is a key ingredient in rum-making.
Then the molasses is brought to Asian Alcohol Corp. in Pulupandan, where it is distilled to derive the sugarcane spirit.
It is here that sugarcane alcohol is sourced and aged. Its aging facility houses more than 200,000 oak barrels of aged alcohol.
Then the aged alcohol is further distilled and bottled in the Tanduay Distillers plant in Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
So it is in Negros Occidental where sugar cane is harvested, milled, fermented, distilled and aged; this is also where the Tanduay rhum is bottled, labelled and shipped out across the country.
