In summary, feed formulation involves finding the right balance between 1 or 2 sources of energy, 1 or 2 sources of protein, vitamins, and minerals, while considering their cost to meet the nutrient requirements of the intended livestock. If the feed combination lacks the required amino acid profile, you can add amino acids such as lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.
