12 infectious in-patients (isolation ward) with 24 hours in patient monitoring and critical care. We can manage the following diseases and conditions:

CASE FEATURE: PYOMETRA IN A DOG 🐾

A 7-year-old intact female German Shepherd was presented following a 4-day history of anorexia and vomiting.

🩺 Diagnostic findings:
• CBC revealed marked leukocytosis with neutrophilia
• Blood chemistry showed decreased sodium and potassium levels secondary to vomiting
• Ultrasound examination showed a markedly fluid-filled uterus, highly suggestive of pyometra

The patient was diagnosed with Pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection commonly seen in unspayed female dogs.

⚠️ Early signs may include:
✔ Loss of appetite
✔ Vomiting
✔ Lethargy
✔ Increased drinking or urination
✔ Vaginal discharge (not always present)

If your pet shows any of these signs, consult your veterinarian immediately. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential to improve survival and recovery.

Preventive spaying remains the best protection against pyometra.

Strengthening Expertise in Veterinary Cardiology Through Continuous Learning🐾

Our veterinarians, Dr. Joshue Carl “Nose” Llesis Reconose and Dr. Audrey Patnugot, recently completed a 2-day Cardiology Insights lecture with Dr. Laurent Locquet, a Veterinary Cardiologist and European Diplomate.

The session offered a deeper understanding of veterinary cardiology, providing a comprehensive dive into cardiology practice—from ECG interpretation and management of complex arrhythmias to practical approaches in caring for cardiac patient, further expanding our team’s knowledge and expertise in heart care.

Alongside continuous learning opportunities such as these, Dr. Nose and Dr. Audrey also continue to build their experience with guidance and mentorship of our Cardiology Consultant, Dr. Paul Cardenio, as ADVH steadily grows its cardiology services and capabilities for future cardiac consultations.
